No movement on mine yet.....14th-21st Nov here.

Will know mine is soon, because it has so little to travel, i live only 30 miles from the factory i presume.....will certainly be next day for me.

Edit: On the authorization thing, when i first placed my order i got a text message from my bank saying a charge of HK$17000 was made to my card.....it hasn't shown up on my account, so i assume that was a "pre-authorization" that they do here.....but doesn't show up on a statement until the actual charge gets made.

Reactions: Nate.

When i did my change, I was told it wouldn't impact the order in anyway shape or form, went and made the change under that assumption, and my new configuration was delayed. Spoke to a manager at apple, and their going to look into expediting the build and delivery for me.

i was told by the chat rep today that they should start shipping out on november 10th.

Who knows if the rep actually knew what they were talking about. My chat rep said she had nothing else she could offer besides the order status page.

the 10th would technically be 2 weeks since we ordered if you did on the 27th.

So for the past week I've been deleting old or unnecessary files, making back ups and just generally cleaning things up with all my computers. It occurs to me I have seen my wife do this twice with regard to our house instead of computers. This was before the birth of each of our daughters...it's called nesting. Holy crap, I am nesting for my new arrival!

I'm nesting too :)

(love that comparison, brightend my day ;))

Nor was I. I can't recall ever having a card authorisation in the past either. For me the authorisation appears just as it goes to preparing for shipment.

My card was not authorized either. I don't know if it matters that I used the Apple Barclay's card or not.

Is it possible to modify the order including AppleCare without modification on the place of the queue and having it in the same invoice with the computer? thank you!

Just get Apple care when it arrives. You can't use it until then anyway. You also get 1 year free by default

Got my 0% interest card through today so finally got my order in!
Went for the base touchbar with 16GB RAM in Space Grey. Was going to get the 512GB but if I need any more storage I'll get a Samsung T3 drive for half the price Apple wanted.

Gotta wait 4-5 weeks now :( I guess it'll give me time to carefully select my dongles and wires from Amazon...

Ok, I upped the ante by ordering second alternative to base 13" w/Touch (i5, 256 GB SSD) I ordered after launch. Put order on i7 + 512GB SSD version of 13" MPr w/Touch (of course). Now I have a couple days to decide which config I want.

I usually get a base setup with i5 (I have iMac 5k for heavy stuff) but I was wondering is i7 make a difference?

Do you have any experience?

Of course I'm not looking for difference in web browsing but scientific computation with R/Python, computational software (OpenFOAM), heavy data sets - millions of records in one file (1 GB size csv), stormwater/water networks modelling software, Matlab (heavy online data processing), Mathematica.

I occasionally use Pixelmator and other light graphics software. I use a lot text processors with huge files full of figures and stuff (Pages / Word). VMWare for Win7 when I need to use Statsoft Statistica.

I was so happy when I saw that someone else will be using his new MBP to run OpenFOAM :D. I was asking the same question, but it seems that everyone agrees that the upgrade to i7 doesn't make a great difference, only about 10%. SO if the price difference ( about 300$) is Ok for you, go on.
