Read that article, really cool of them to do. Hopefully they can get them to you by the end of the year.
It was extremely generous of them. I also called Amazon customer service and they informed me that I should expect to receive my computer before the end of this month, so hopefully that information is correct.

I think it's because we are from Europe, Europe is always kinda neglected.
I'm in the US and got the same answer. They said that they where shipping as fast as possible, and changing from standard shipping would not effect the true delivery time.
My est is 17-25 of nov.

I just had a chat with the After Sales US team and they told me the same.. Not sure if that's true or not.

55 pages and it is heart warming to see not one person has purchased a new rMBP holding true to the spirit of disgust. Well done people, stick it to Apple machine by boycotting their product!

That's the spirit keep up the solidarity comrades, we'll crush their high prices with patience and tenacity of resolve and we'll post our ire and $ 4 specs ratios and summary of and on our new Dell XPS laptops from anonymous wifi locations across the global network of Starbucks! :)
And then, we'll quietly have a change of heart and buy one.

So, moral of the story: Never pay for upgraded shipping on an Apple item that hasn't been released yet. They ship them all via Express Worldwide shipping directly from China.
My iPhone 7 Plus came from Prague, Czech Republic. Not sure if my MacBook Pro will come from China.

the 15" macbook pro on amazon that is $2,7999 looks really tempting to get instead of the 13" 3.3/512gb one that I got for $2,500. its only $200 more. the problem is when would I recieve it? I'm on the 2-3 week window from apple.

Yes but it wasn't made there, was it. Everything comes from China. Sometimes this is hidden in the tracking especially if Apple is using DHL.

You will definitely receive your Apple one way earlier.

Yeah of course it was made in China but it was sent to a Warehouse in Prague first - Then they finally shipped it to me. :)

Do you think I could get my order a little bit earlier than stated on the Order Status Website?

Expected delivery date: 23 Nov - 30 Nov

I think everyone will get them a little earlier than the estimate. Probably by as much as a week. :)

My belief is that these will start shipping sooner rather than later. I think Apple wants to get them in consumers' hands as soon as possible so as to help pump up excitement as the holiday shopping season kicks into full gear.

My Apple care shipped today, about 3 weeks earlier than estimated. But that is just a paper booklet isn't it. I hope this means earlier than expected shipping for the MBP itself too. I ordered Nov 1st and shipping still says 4-5 weeks.

Still, a positive sign.

Go to ups.com and track by reference. See if they started shipping?

Hi Everyone! I'm new here and wanted to ask if anyone has received notification that their credit card has been charged or authorized. I placed my order on 10/27 and my card was never charged or authorized, however this morning I woke up to a text alert from American Express saying my card was authorized by Apple for the amount of $3,422.93. I checked with a co-worker who just ordered his this week, and no charge or authorization on his credit card. When I ordered my iPhone 7 it this same thing happened and then 2 days later it was shipped out.

It seems my optimistic window has elapsed. We are probably looking at "Preparing to Ship" early/mid next week, "Shipped" mid/late next week, "Delivered" early/mid the following week. So to keep myself from being obsessive, I'm setting my expectation at best case a couple days before estimated delivery window to the beginning of the window. I'm in first wave of 11/17 - 11/25 for a 15" BTW.

Weird--my authorization was placed contemporaneously with my order. In fact, the hold is still there.
