You don't need to believe me, lol. All you have to do is download the original screenshot, and check the EXIF data yourself. I used http://exifdata.com. There are a million other tools you can use to check.

I trust nobody my guy, but the screenshot of the Apple app? I mean I ordered their laptop so I gotta kind of trust them. Like I honestly don't care when anyone else's says "preparing for shipment"; I only care about mine. I'll believe it when I see it, in other words.
There are people out there that do this deception crap. Why? Some weird pleasure, I guess. But I find it rather amusing. If someone posts that their Touch Bar MBP is now PfS, then I would have expected a number of said posts. This isolated post is what raised my spider senses.
Does payment method affect shipping/delivery date? For example, would using PayPal credit give you a longer wait time?

Guys I just took the plunge and ordered my 13" TouchBar model... I was going to order on announcement day the 27th but had been skeptical until now =\ my estimated delivery says Dec 14-20... do you think it could come any sooner?
Sure it could come sooner but no one really knows. Macs don't typically beat the estimates at least for the first batch or two. But you are far enough down the line that supply may improve and your date will improve.
My advice for next time...do as I did....just order the damn thing after the keynote...that gave me 2-3 weeks to think about it anyways and now that I have decided I do want it, I'm first in line!! And my final decision will be in the 15 days I have to return it so I can benchmark it myself for the things I use it for compared to my 2012rMBP.
I'm pretty sure they're very conservative with these estimated dates. It should be earlier.
It will be an interesting holiday season at the Apple Stores:

Don't forget that you could also ask for the new Air Pods and you will get the same answer and even the Apple Watch Series 2 is in limited supply.
