I'd imagine tomorrow and Tuesday a lot of the orders placed immediately after the Keynote will prepare for shipping or be shipped, and will begin arriving the 14th onwards.

Then I hope that I am wrong.

I hope my order will he handled as base model also .... my only change was a US keyboard layout...instead of Dutch.

It saved me one week in shipping time (2-3weeks for us layout instead of 3-4 weeks for the Dutch layout).

Offcourse they do have to put the correct power supply in the box .... European version instead of US....

So thus far we have two reports of the new MBP with TB moving to Preparing For Shipment. Both are from Asia and both posters who signed up for MacRumors the same day of their posts. Additionally, neither provided a clear screen capture of their configuration. I hate to be negative, but I need more evidence before I believe "it's happening" for real. Sorry, I just want to see more proof and maybe someone stateside moving to Preparing For Shipment.

Wow, I'm having a hard time believing that. So according to the guy, nobody is gonna be able to walk into an apple store and buy a TB MBP before January or February? What happens, then? Apple puts new macbooks on display that no-one can buy? They're gonna be like - "place the order online or wait until January"?

Basically, yes; and that's not unusual for popular pre-order models. It's STILL difficult to find an iPhone 7 Plus in Jet Black in a lot of stores (it released on September 9th). You have to order online. They'll trickle into certain stores, especially smaller non-flagship stores. But it'll be every bit of March I bet before you can consistently walk into any Apple store and pick one up.

I think the Macau one seems alright.

Ugh, got a couple
do any of you guys know how to use the macbook display as a screen, i want to know if you can use on of the ports HDMI, Display Port or USB-C for input and have it shown on the screen
Some app or some hub/app combo???

You would need a dedicated video input device. None of the existing ports would have direct input. Something like this: http://www.fullcompass.com/prod/205...bFPpC0-UiFdcaSZ-U8tJGmHNQF42C-23GYaAsbU8P8HAQ

Keep in mind for the new models, you'd need the TB3->TB2 adapter for it to work.

Then it's probably a fake, as the order was placed on October 28.

Yep, easy enough to fake a page. See attached.

I understand your concern, but there is still a chance they are legit. Not only did his page say that it was preparing for shipment, but the cancel button was gone, the question below explaining why you couldn't change the order was there, and the photo of the app seems to be even more difficult to edit convincingly.

Simply put, you can save any version of any page (html file) and edit it to your hearts content. I have yet to find a single person with their FIRST post being about a brand new release and turn out legit, and I've been around here for a decade. Just pure stats, the odds are that it's a troll, but admittedly, as the saying goes, nothing is 100% certain except death and taxes.

Remember they are both stock as well.

I am expecting mine to go to P2S fairly soon if they are legitimate....as mine is a BTO, but with the same estimates.

And yes i can confirm mine was ordered straight after the event, but its a 28th order, as it was early hours for us...think around 2:30am.

This is pretty worrying news for me. I can't order online because I don't know where I'll be when it gets delivered, and I just need a stock model which I assumed would be available in stores by the end of November. Looks like I was being very naive.

So there isn't any chance some stock models will be delivered between November/December in any Apple Store?
I think you could deliver it to a friends house or something? So you can give him or her the mandate to sign for you. It sounds very odd that the haven't planned ahead to have some stock models in store.

Just got some suggestions from apple representative. Once your mac delivered, you can contact the shipping company to let them leave your goods on their shipping department so that you can just pick up there instead of an apple store

Also, you live near a distribution center you can have it held before they get on the truck. Pick it up first minute they open and you can save yourself a long 2-10 hour wait!

Yeah, this is exactly what I will do. I will call UPS and tell them to hold my order at their shipping department, I will come and pick it up later.

Just a follow up on a previous sub-thread within this thread . . .

Apple chat rep just told me that the MBP with touch bar won't be in my local Apple store (eastern U.S.) until December 20.
