glad i was able to order mine after the event yesterday was not sure i was going to be able to because i was waiting for my apple gift card but i recieved the gift card right before the event started.

here is my configuration i ordered:

13-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray
Configuration

  • 3.3GHz Dual-core Intel Core i7
  • 16GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM
  • Intel Iris Graphics 550
  • 512GB PCIe-based SSD
  • Four Thunderbolt 3 ports
  • Touch Bar and Touch ID
  • Force Touch trackpad
  • KYBD/USER'S GUIDE
  • COUNTRY KIT

the only disappointment for me is the delivery date. any chance we will be getting these earlier then the november 17th date?!

I'm planning to buy the entry-leven 15inch, but it's like €2700. Uhm mom, can I borrow some more? :p

Anyway, since I'm buying this for my company, I had to wait until 9AM European time to call Apple and order it. Hope the order time doesn't slip too much, since I sold my Mac Mini the other day..

It will be a Mac-less month for me, I guess :(

I just purchased my 15" Space Grey beastie:

2.9GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
16GB 2133MHz memory
256GB PCIe-based SSD
Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory

Kept the flash storage the same to save on money as these things are costly, besides i will use why existing external storage. I have a 3 to 4 week wait.

Is this new flash storage user upgradeable? I was under the impression that it wasn't. It looked different from the old blade type SSDs.

13" touch bar w/16gb
ETA 2-3 weeks

15" base
ETA 3-4 weeks

I'm not sure which one I want to cancel though. Is the 15" overkill for Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, and occasionally After Effect/Final Cut? Seems like you get a lot of value for +20% more cash.

Yep, I know that ITA is Italy but no details about Keybord: they disappeared...
It is the same for my order (just short code US representing the layout I've chosen). Does Italy have multiple layouts? If not, I don't see anything to worry about.

I just ordered the base 13 w/no touch bar for $1130 + 5$ cashback from amazon. :) Amazon is having 10% off the new macbook pros but the deals on the 15" already expired.

Really wanted a fully maxed out 13", but the cost of them are just too much for me now, so I've gone with:

Macbook 13" - Space Grey
2.9GHz Intel Core i5
16GB RAM
256GB SSD
Touch Bar & TouchID

Going to get a 2TB external HDD and a USB-C to HDMI adapter ASAP. Also have to buy a messenger bag so that the laptop doesn't get destroyed in it. Not looking forward to looking at my bank account at the end of November, but extremely excited to be moving on from a now-ancient HP620 with 2GB RAM and a Pentium Dual Core CPU T4500 with 2.3GHz.

Ships in 3-4 weeks (November 25th - December 2nd)

I sold my 2012 rMBP 15'' for €1350 a week ago .. If I had known that I would have to pay an extra €700 (and that's with a student's discount !!!!!) to buy a 13'' I would have kept my 2012 rMBP .. What's done is done though .. Looking forward to my new Mac !

You can cancel your order but it doesn't look like these are customizable. Plus if you're a student the same sale applies on the education store.

The eduction discount wasn't 360$ on the base model was it? I thought it was more like $50

Edit: just ordered a base model space grey for $1139 from amazon. I may wait longer but that's a great deal.

That is a good deal. The one I looked at was 200 off so 10% same as student discount.

Can you link to the one you got on amazon? That seems like a fishy price and will probably get cancelled.

Cancel the 13", I am a Graphic Designer and love the extra real estate. Also you have the quad core i7 standard in the 15"

Because I am crazy and can't decide on Space Grey or Silver I have one of each on order and will cancel one before they ship. I am leaning towards Space Grey at this point, I will decide once full reviews start popping up.

So heres my current status.

hmm I am trying to contact an amazon customer service rep about it. If it's legit I'm gonna buy it too

the rep said they have no info. I'm gonna pre order as well though so if anything happens in next week or two

Hope you got it in. Looks like it sold out. :(

I just checked the NUS discount and you no longer get free AppleCare, you get 50% off AppleCare instead.

Thats not right.

As a student you get a custom agreement with Apple with 3 years hardware support. It doesn't include phone support and it isn't called Apple Care. But since when do you use phone support? and when I say phone support I mean with software issues.

So to sum up; buying through the Education store gives you a 3 year hardware warranty. You do not need apple care as all you are paying for is phone support.

What's your source for this?

I initially ordered 15" 2.7/1Tb/455 in space grey with Apple care. Changed it this morning to 15" 2.7/1Tb/460 without Apple care. I was planning to purchase Apple care within 90 days of delivery, but if what you are saying is right, I might not need to. And yes I ordered trough the UK edu store.

Waiting for the following:
- 15" space grey
- 2.7GHz
- 1TB
- 4GB
(Germany)

Delivery time: 16th - 23rd Nov

Any tips for a nice dock/cable with displayport support which is not too expensive (hub+)?

That's not true in the US right?
