Financial institutions can receive delays in authorizations as well, though the authorization will be time stamped with the date the transaction was initiated. Example, authorization will appear tomorrow but will be time stamped as of today. Financial institutions use different methods. Some use systematics, manual or a combination of each. Though untimely the system can decline it but hopefully the financial institution manually reviews it. Basically, from experience from the inside. I would use caution.

Yes, but your actual charge won't be until it ships.

Can't wait, I'm upgrading from a 2009 13" MacBook Pro!!!! This is gonna be one heck of an upgrade!!!

Just a quick note, been speaking with apple.....my order was placed as soon as the store came online, but with no confirmation email and doesn't show up in my order list......on the app it shows as "order has been received".

Had to wait until 09:00am HKT due to their line not opening until then.

Basically explained that there is some error in the system, because its a new product and it happens sometimes, seems they work from 2 different systems, 1 showed my order, 1 didn't.

They are following it up and should be resolved within 1-2 days but confirmed my order has gone through.

Anybody with this issue should contact them as items should have the confirmation email and go to "processing" pretty much immediately.

For the order:

13 inch Space Grey MBP
Touch Bar and ID
512GB SSD
2.9 Ghz
16GB RAM

Shipping Estimate: Nov 14th-Nov 21st.

Maxed out the 13". I was disappointed in not having the gold option, and the 15", while not much wider than my current powerPC powerbook, just looked weird with the keyboard size, large trackpad, and wider speaker grilles. Just looked out of balance somehow. So i gave up the extra graphics processing and went to a 1T drive and the i7. I know its going to feel too small since its about the same as my husbands xps13...
Delivers: Nov 17 - Nov 25 by Standard Shipping

13-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray

• 3.3GHz dual-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
• 16GB 2133MHz memory
• 1TB PCIe-based SSD

I just tried to cancel my order and was met with "we are unable to cancel your order at this time, an apple representative would be happy to assist you."

I guess ill give them a call and see if they can apply an education discount.

What's your order status say?

15-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray
With the following configuration:
• 2.9GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
• 16GB 2133MHz memory
• 2TB PCIe-based SSD
• Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory
RIP my bank account

my exact order!! plus apple care!! i think my last fully loaded 15" pro was only a few hundred cheaper and it only had 750gb ssd

View attachment 668581 Upgrading from my original rMBP from 2012. Paying about $800CDN more than I payed for that one back in 2012. But considering the fall in the CDN$ since 2012 that isn't all that bad. Though it is damned expensive and the price above is with education pricing!! Maxed out everything except for the 2TB SSD which is just a bit too much to swallow and storage I don't really need.

Who knows, I might wake up and cancel this order tomorrow.
Where in Canada are you from?
I got lesser specs than you, but pay more tax ($470.60!)
Does applecare reduce tax?

Definitely shocked by the price, but at least my company gets a teeny tiny discount to make it a little more bearable. Finally upgrading from my early 2011 15" MBP. Very happy with how well my current machine has held up with just minor upgrades (RAM and HD).

15" Space Gray MBP
  • 2.7GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.6GHz
  • 16GB 2133MHz memory
  • 1TB PCIe-based SSD
  • Radeon Pro 455 with 2GB memory
  • $3,297 after tax - OUCH!
Nowadays I mainly use my MBP to edit photos so I didn't think it was necessary to upgrade to the Radeon 460. I am disappointed by the lack of SD card slot. Purchased two accessories on Amazon that should make managing photos and external drives a little easier.

I originally ordered silver and changed my mind. I had an earlier shipping date but after cancelling and reordering it's now shipping Nov 25 - Dec 2.

I like the base space gray, I see everyone and their mom getting the 512 SSD now i'm wondering if I made the right choice....

hmm I first placed an order for a MBP 13 2.9ghz, 16gb, 256gb and that order had went into processing pretty quickly. Once I was able to cancel it I did and changed it to the 512gb and it hasn't gone to processing yet. It's been at "We've received your order" But the date range for deliver is Nov 17th -24th. I wonder why this one hasn't started processing yet
