Hi, what delivery date are you expecting? I placed my order and the estimate says November 17th to 25th, but my big problem is I am not from the US but I am traveling there, the thing is I am leaving on November 22nd, so maybe I'll have to cancel my order.
So what does your experience tell you? Should the date be closer to the 17 or the 25th?

Here is my model:
13-inch MacBook Pro - Space Gray
  • $2,299.00
Hardware
  • 3.1GHz dual-core Intel Core i5 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.5GHz
  • 16GB 2133MHz memory
  • 512GB PCIe-based SSD
  • Intel Iris Graphics 550
  • Backlit Keyboard (English) & User's Guide
  • Four Thunderbolt 3 ports
  • Touch Bar and Touch ID
  • Force Touch trackpad
  • Accessory Kit

Oh man, that is tough. My experience is its usually towards the front end of shipping, but you never know. I like your chances, but its a gamble.

When it ships, if it looks like it's going to arrive at its destination before you do, call the carrier and have them hold it for pickup at the local depot of the shipping destination's city. If it's going to arrive after you leave, then it will eventually be returned to Apple by the carrier, and since it should be unopened you should be given a refund.

Bestbuy shows expected shipping release date, Dec 31 Sunday?? Is this right? I know best buy is the worst place for pre-orders...

Interesting, since that's supposed to be a Saturday this year. That's probably a default placeholder showing by "end of year" when they don't have a date yet. From what I could see, B&H didn't have any information on when they would get the new MacBook Pros, only "coming soon."

Best Buy probably won't get stock until the initial demand is met. But in 2012, bought a rMBP a few days after they were in Apple stores, so you never know.

I just purchased my 15" Space Grey beastie:

2.9GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
16GB 2133MHz memory
256GB PCIe-based SSD
Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory

Kept the flash storage the same to save on money as these things are costly, besides i will use why existing external storage. I have a 3 to 4 week wait.

Order a 15-inch MacBook Pro (Silver)

Configuration:
  • 2.9GHz Quad-core Intel Core i7
  • 16GB 2133MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM
  • Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB VRAM
  • 2TB PCIe-based SSD
The price was over $6400 with Apple Care.

I don't have a delivery date at this stage.

Delivery: November 21 to November 28 by Standard Shipping

MacBook Pro 15-inch
4.039,00 €
With the following settings:
• Intel Core i7 quad-core 2.9 GHz (Turbo Boost up to 3.8 GHz)
• 16 GB of memory to 2,133 MHz (This is very, very, SAD)
• 1TB PCIe SSD
• Radeon Pro 460 with 4 GB of memory

Opted not to expand to 2TB;
At least 21% VAT is reclaimable ....

When will these be available to test out in store. I am considering one but for the price it needs to utterly wow me.

Uk order here, originally I went for
2.9GHz quad-core Intel Core i7 processor, Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz
16GB 2133MHz memory
2TB PCIe-based SSD
Radeon Pro 460 with 4GB memory

But this morning I rang them up and had them change my order to a 1TB. Delivery has been changed from 17th-24th Nov to 3-4 weeks which I'm not too fussed about considering it's saved me £500

Thinking of getting the same config, but I'm still in between upgrading to 2.9 or 512GB since they're the same price.

Or you can use NUSEXtra if you have an NUS Card (Used to be 15% off Mac stuff now just 10% but you still get the 3 year applecare for free as well)
Whaaaat? I paid like £160 for my Apple care. Are you absolutely sure it's free with NUSEXtra?

I ordered a 15" 512 16g RAM radeon pro 455 (standard config)
3199€ in France, ouch ...

But I think I will cancel that order and get a 13" 16g RAM 512 instead.
2 439 €

Mainly for size and weight aspects (plus I will use it 80% of the time closed with a desktop 4K display), and looks !
I think the 13 looks much better in terms of proportions, especially for the keyboard, and 760€ difference is quite something (more than the price of a good 4k display ...)

And not being a gamer, seems to me the graphic capability of the 13 will be sufficient for me.

Will go have a look in a store before I make the final decision.

Called the Opera one in Paris, they won't have them before next Monday, same in other places ?

Edit : Ok I just made the switch, 3199 for a laptop is really kind of ridiculous, might switch again after having a look at them ! :)
But the 13 really looks better, a 14 would have been perfect though.

What's everyone's opinion on the base 15" vs 16 GB RAM/512 GB SSD 13", I currently have the 15" base ordered, however having the smaller amount of storage worries me, especially if the SSD is soldered, however there is no way I am paying any more money.

If I purchase a built to order version (add a bigger ssd) and change my mind can I still cancel?

My configuration: MacBook Pro 13"

• Processor Intel Core i7 dual core 3,3 GHz (Turbo Boost 3,6 GHz)
• 16 Gb RAM 2133 MHz
• SSD PCI 1 Tb
• Intel Iris Graphics 550
• 4 ports Thunderbolt 3

Delivery 25 Nov. - 2 Dec.

I have to ask a question: I've asked for a keyboard change. Before asking for technical support I had:
  • Clavier rétroéclairé (Suisse) & Guide de l'utilisateur (Français)
Now I have 2 new items:
  • KYBD/USER'S GUIDE-ITA
  • COUNTRY KIT-INT
Do you think that's correct?

After comparing with different brands of laptop, I eventually ordered a 13 inch 16gb/512gb touchstrip version.
However, there is a high chance I will just cancel it anyway. 2300 euro is actually more than 500 euro above my maximum.

I may eventually end up with a 8gb/256 version for 400 euro less. But it would be less future proof. With apple it always feels like solving a big riddle, cost vs future vs need.

Ordered base 15" (256GB/450) in Belgium. Says shipping 25 Nov to 2 Dec. Hmm. Not sure if it will slip though, since I pay with wire transfer.

Again it depends on your usage. Although the devil inside me wants more storage for no reason, the reality of mine is that:

1. 70 GB free in my 200GB macOS partition, even with all my work stuff and obese & unused software like Office.
2. The dusted 40GB Bootcamp partition can be purged at any time, eww.
3. Although it is not top of the line, 450 should still be faster than the Iris in 13", provided that 450 operates independently from the 45W quad-core CPU with its 35W cap, while 13" shares 28W(?) between its dual core and the iGPU.

So you have to tear your usage apart and think critically. For things you "planned to do" though, are you just brought them up in a blink to justify the upgrade? I did think I need to do video editing and that means MOAR STORAGEEEE. but then I was like "meh... I just do them occasionally and can work from external drives anyway" in a second thought. I was once paranoid of not having enough space for my photos, but then it takes me 6 years to have just a 5-6GB photo library, and that syncs to iCloud...

ITA is Italy. Country Kit likely refers to the accessories kit (cable + USB-C power brick).
