All these dates from non-Americans confuse me; why can't you guys be normal?

Jk jk, we are doing it backwards here.

Anyway, California order with a temporary authorization on 11/7.

15" base BTO with 512 SSD and 460.

If the new MBPs do indeed start shipping in the next day or two, then hopefully we'll see some reviews out this week too!

We probably will. I listened to the latest "Control Walt Delete" podcast (Nilay Patel and Waltmossberg) from The Verge, they said they'd discuss the MBP TB next week because then the review would be out. Nilay said Dieter Bohn is reviewing it now.

Based purely on past experience with numerous orders direct from Apple, theres a least a solid chance that anyone charged today (at least in the US) will have it in their hot little hands by Friday but definitely early next week
Can you speak to how long it takes for the next batch to be sent out? I'm currently in the 3-4 week group.

Damn, no charge yet. Ship to store. Maybe that's why? I thought it anything that would be on of the first to be charged.

Apple is pretty corny for working on the BTO ones first. Might as well get the mass manufacturer stock ones out and then work on the BTOs. Smh

I doubt they're working on them first. I'd wager that they have a ton of stock configurations stacked up in a warehouse somewhere waiting to ship. BTOs are being charged now because they are being built exclusively for that customer. When the stock configs get shipping labels, then they will be charged.

ive been refreshing my credit card account like crazy and still no charge :( i ordered right away after the event also.

I haven't been charged either. 15" BTO ordered minutes after the keynote. It's all good. I'm sure we'll see things moving soon. Sometimes I have been one of the first to be charged for an order, sometimes I've been one of the last, and I've always gotten the order at the same time as everyone else.

There's really no such thing as a BTO. Apple is producing the 13" and 15" MacBook Pros in the different available configurations. There are not Building To Order.

P.S. I ordered two *BTO* 13" models and charges are pending on my CC for both as of today, with a delivery time frame of 11/15-11/22.

there is a spreadsheet
Can i get a link please? cant seem to find it :p

Here it is :

Hi All,

I've created a Google Docs spreadsheet which can be edited by all so we can add our orders and compare progress:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1WLB7Tqsyvettq9VYCBR-S5D7AzcCMPEZpMhaGa2cFsM/edit?usp=sharing

Please add your order to the spreadsheet and update when your order changes status! That will then give those of us waiting an idea as to whether orders are shipping early.

Back in 2013 when ordering a Mac Pro, I did the same thing and the spreadsheet was very popular with a couple of hundred people adding their order details.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1u3A5fVklSX7Xt9ZaS-9sx1qy5gH8e2tPtxmBmexYNpg/edit

Thanks!

Does anyone know if editing your order delays the shipment significantly? Or is it a small delay?

Couldn't tell you unfortunately. I'm just speaking from years of ordering experience with Apple. As others have stated they generally tend to underpromise but that doesn't guarantee anything. Based on the charge hitting my card today I have every belief I'll have mine by next Monday but that's by no means assured.

I *just* (11:40 AM) got charged for my 15" BTO (ordered within 30 minutes or so of the keynote) - it appears as a pending authorization. So they are still charging people regardless of what time it is in China.

EDITED TO ADD: My delivery date is Nov 17-25.

I would count on a reset, but i'm not sure (like you). I also would not trust calling them, as you might get a bimbo.

But as the poster above said, if your canceling individual items, that 'might' not effect much.

Yes, there definitely is BTO. You'll never be able to go to a store and buy a 15" MacBook Pro with a Radeon Pro 460. However, you're also right in the sense that it looks like they are building all models in all configurations to fulfill the pre-orders before moving on to stock configurations exclusively.

Dang! I was assuming since my order hasn't been built yet that it wouldn't have a large effect. I guess I will find out over the next few days when my order is updated

Would you guys happen to know if changing the credit card by phone would cause me to get to the back of the line...?

Edit: or just online... not charged yet and shipping says Nov 17-25

Did you get charged yet?

Unless you gave incorrect information that would cause an error when Apple tried to authorize your card, you should be fine.
