Weird colors, glitching, screen trating and flickering is all symptoms on upcoming GPU failure. I think its just some software that triggers the hardware errors

All my glitches have been on login when the system loads the color profile i made with a colorimeter, after i changed back to original color profile i havent seen it yet. And the colorprofile have link to the gpu

AND for me it seems its the intel 530 gpu that is the problem. Which explaind why all 3 different AMD configs get these

It could be the Skylake graphics solutions overall, This coupled with the P3 color gamut screen could cause issues, on the iMac it's always running the AMD solution instead of the Intel (due to the 5K resolution)... This is my best guess because looking at how many 2016 Macbook Pros have been shipped (with either 450-455-460) those can't all have flawwed GPUs. I think it's a driver issue with the Intel IGP.

Stores are stocking the 15" 2.9GHz/1TB/460, but are not stocking the 2TB one.
Correct. No UK store keeps a 2TB model in stock and all come from China so unfortunately it's a long wait if I want a replacement but since it could be software I might as well sit it out, wait to see if there's a fix and if not then start the ball rolling on a refund/replacement.

I'll have a check of my non-Skylake MPB logs later and report back.

If you jump to 1m20s in my video you'll see I switch between iGPU and dGPU and my graphics glitches are still there, they shift a little but still present so I've ruled out either GPU.

The 1990s called and wants thier screen back....

Wow this is bad.

Owh and FWIW: Sometimes I get "similar" glitches on my 2011 15" Macbook Pro (I know RadeonGate 6750m blablabla) but they are similar to the glitches on the 2016 machines and like the GPU glitches I had earlier with this machine (before the three logicboard replacements).

This year's 'stock BTOs' are 13/3.3/16/512 and 15/2.9/1/460. Both colours. Not all stores though: in the UK it's central London stores plus a few others.
The staff said BTO options have not been in any of the central London stores every time I pass by I ask them for a stock check on their portable stock checker. They have only been getting standard models and they sell out within hours.

Check out the UK Retail Availability thread. I've bought the 13" BTO from two stores in London and other members have bought the 15" BTO (e.g. @Fireball Dragon). The information you received is wrong.
Maybe, but I looked at the stock checker IN their hands four times total. There is always red cross next to BTO options. Curiously the stock checker show only two BTO options above the standard models so if they ever stock them it will be limited configs.

You can have BTO delivered to a store though.

I must not be making myself clear enough. I bought a BTO model in-store, and so did many other people on the thread I mentioned. A red cross doesn't meant it is not stocked, it merely means it is out of stock at that time.

Some UK stores, especially in London, stock 13/3.3/16/512 and 15/2.9/1/460 in both colours. You just have to ask for it. End of.

I did ask for them. Hope you didn't think I went into these stores and just spoke to a wall after 20+ years of using top config Macs.

Really stupid and condescending tone you have there.

I purchased a BTO (2.9 / 1TB / 460) from Stratford. And I also purchased the same model from Lakeside. Had to return both due to certain issues, but that's not relevant to this.

The point is, they definitely carry specific BTO models. But having checked this week, none of the stores seem to 'currently' have any in stock.

Exactly my point that they just aren't in the stores everywhere I have checked in person. I am aware that the website isn't accurate and you have to go in person. The guy above claimed central London stores have them but they do NOT. Even base models...the handful they receive daily are gone within hours.

There has been a breakdown in communication. I was saying they do stock them, not that they were definitely in stock at that particular time.

Your posts make it sound like you are under the impression that high-end configs are never stocked.

You also said "they have only been getting standard models" which is not true.

Anyway, at least it is clear now.

Just a data point: After I turned off "transparency" on my 2016 rmbp 13 the graphics issue (messed up screen after waking from long sleep/hibernate) stopped happening. This would happen anytime the laptop was asleep over night and does not happen anymore. Running the latest non beta.

Interesting. I remember when the 12" MacBook came out people were turning off transparency to stop graphics issues. It got fixed in the end at least.

I've been looking at the stock availability to pick-up. A lot of London stores currently have the standard 13" available. Stratford also seem to have the lower config' 15" (and higher 15" base was also available for a good while earlier this week).

It's interesting that you guys mention BTOs not showing online for store pick-up. Guess it may be a case of me going in and checking again?

But tbh, I am quite tired of all this. After getting 2 units with issues, returning them, checking online, going in store and asking repeatedly, it's really sucked the joy out of the whole process.

Buying a new MacBook is supposed to be a happy, memorable experience IMO. And his has just been downright stressful.

I think I'm just going to wait for my online order now and not think about it. Hopefully it will be perfect.

In the meantime, I'll just enjoy my 12" MacBook which has been amazing for the past 18 months

Amen, it does put a bit of damper on things.

BTOs never show as available for in-store pickup even when the store has plenty of stock. One of the many quirks of Apple's retail operations I guess.

I think I have wasted a little too much time checking the BTO store availability online then! ROFL

I don't think I am going to go especially to an Apple store now before/after work to check. If I happen to walk past one before Xmas, will walk-in and try my luck.

At least for the 15in the only BTO that will be in stock is the 2.9/1tb/460, as far as i know

True. In the US here, but when I checked a late 2013 maxed out model that was supposedly only BTO, and the online stock said "not available", I went to the store and asked, and they did have them.

Haha!

As for the reason (reason not meaning explanation since I do not know why it is like this) - the BTO 15/2.9/1/460 you find in store has a part number in the format ABC12D/E but the BTO you configure online has a part number in the format AB1C - in other words, despite them being the same thing, in Apple's inventory system they are viewed separately.

I tried forcing the online pick-up system to check for the ABC12D/E part number that I knew the BTO model had, but it returned an error.

(Nerd alert: technically the in-store BTO and online BTO are different: the in-store varieties have the nice specifications label stuck on the box (in addition to the rectangular sticker on the lower left) - ones ordered online do not feature this.)

That's all good information to know, thanks! Hopefully will help for future orders, too.

This has been one strange launch for me personally. I'm normally one of those who orders immediately after the keynote and receive the time in one of the first shipment batches. Unfortunately, due to being indecisive about specs, and then deciding I want a 15" (for the first time ever; I have always been a 13" guy!), things got delayed.
[doublepost=1481227720][/doublepost]I just realised that all this talk about measurements could be taken another way... May need to word things more carefully next time!
