The Astros offered a package including Springer and the Sox turned them down. LA apparently offered a "king's ransom" worth of talent.
I'm not sure Sale goes anywhere, but he's likely the best contract in baseball so Chicago is going to demand a boatload.
And I don't think they will trade him. They aren't a bad team. They are definitely better with him.

To be fair, I hate throwback jerseys. Especially when teams like the Rays or D-Backs wear them...
Especially since the White Sox have some of the best home unis in baseball (their pinstripes go back as far as the Yankees). They should wear their home whites every game.
I'm not crazy about them either, but I wouldn't destroy them like a spoiled little girl like Sale did. If I was the GM, they would be playing in those throw back uniforms for the next few times that Sale starts.

they won the WS in that pinstripe abomination they wear now so we will be seeing that for a long time to come. meh!

Man, I want that red cap. The black and white pinstripes aren't going anywhere. Crazy to say that the White Sox have now worn the same thing for over 25 years because prior to that they changed their look constantly. That being said, the Sox tend to wear the solid black all the time (I think Sox pitchers have preferred the black for a while).they have a 1959 throwback that is a amazing.

*You realize that I didn't say that? They've been wearing the pinstripes since 1990... so 26 years. But, yeah, they had a history of mixing things up quite often. I also liked the pigtail "C" unies.

So for the first time in over 20 years the Yankees are waving the white flag and selling off. I wish they did this 5 years ago but at least Cashman finally got to ownership this time and they realize the season is lost. Time to get younger and rebuild.
I wish the White Sox would decide to sell off. Duke isn't enough. Robertson, Cabrera, and Frazier should all be sent packing, with options wide open regarding moving Sale, Quintana.
We had to focus on pitching so we got Will Smith and Matt Moore if we are to be any competition to that future baseball dynasty called the Chicago Cubs. We also have Ishikawa again in reserve in the minors and he can come up big during the fall.
The Cubs are almost impossible to match up as it is and now they have Chapman.
My only hope is that we get one more championship and realize that without so many of the players who made us a dynasty (Lincecum, Zito, Sanchez, Panda, Wilson, Renteria, Affeldt, Vogelsong, and others), that we will probably hand over the crown to the Cubs.
I just want one more chance and somehow get past them this postseason if we make it that far. As far as other teams, the Dodgers and Nationals may also be the future of the national league in the next few years. Nobody stays on top forever.

The Yankees, other than the 1980s, have found a way to win a lot from the early days until their latest in 2009. So what else is new?
They are the most successful group in any American sport and it's never a matter of if but a matter of when with them. Damn Yankees and all.
I think if they become a force it will still be after at least two World Series titles for the Cubs along with at least another Chicago pennant. Cubs are the "it" team right now and it's impossible to not see them in postseason for the next few years. It could be Cubs vs. Yankees on several occasions in the future and that's not out of the question if NYY does what the article says.
I don't pretend that a small city like San Francisco could keep afloat a dynasty like a big city like New York year after year, decade after decade. Where will all the money and ticket sales come from in the long term? We had a great A's run in the 1970s and twenty years later, but they are like the SF Giants now which is basically an isolated thing.
No team can be a force nearly every single decade outside of the New York Yankees. If the Yankees start winning more rings it will make me dislike them more than I already do.

It has been going around for a while that the Yankees are cutting payroll to make room for 2018 and then they unload the checkbook. A lot of big names are coming off the books the next 2 years for the yankees plus all of the big prospects they got back. The Yankees are reloading and get ready come 2019 they will be back. As a Yankee fan since the age of 5 I hope occurs sooner.
Everything is starting to fall into place for the Yankees rebuild. ARod will retire after Friday and then become a special advisor/instructor. So now they are out of ARod's contract unless this instructor thing is also going to be paying him $27 million through next year.
