So Kaepernick filed a grievance against the NFL and all of the owners siting, collusion.

My initial thought was that if there was any remote chance some franchise would pick him, that went down the drain. Secondly, I'm not sure how he'll be able to prove collusion - he needs a smoking gun, some hard evidence to show that there was some sort of organized effort to black ball him.

He's getting desperate. He's the one that opted out of the 49ers 16million dollar contract for 2017.

No question.

I don't think the owners actively said lets stay away from him, but no one wanted the circus he'd bring, and given his diminishing skills, it just wasn't worth it.

This was a weird week for football, both college and nfl

-you can say that again

Every time I figured I surprised, another team went and surprised again. I don't even know what to say about the Broncos last night.

IMHO, this shows just how absurd society has become.

If he was worth more than the trouble, he'd be playing. Look at all the evidence over the years, at all levels, that confirm the mentality of just win baby. This isn't about morality or political ideology. If he was worth it, every team would sign him.

How come all the other protesters still have jobs in the NFL?

How come RG3 (the same type of qb with the same assets) isn't in the league? Is the league colluding against RG3? No, he isn't in the league because he can't help a team, and neither can Kaepernick.

What about Tebow? Do you think the owners would care about his genuflecting if he was a great pocket passer, or any type of good passer?

-just dumb

Sorry, but did anyone watch that absurd shovel pass by Fitzpatrick on Sunday? I know that Kaep is a divisive figure, but there is no way he's not better than a lot of the backup QB's out there.

He definitely is BUT owners feel like they will lose ticket sales and part of their fan base if they sign him. Plus the distraction and backlash wouldn't be worth it. I'm not saying they are right or wrong but just stating why he is still unemployed.

I'm not sure what kind of evidence he has in his suit, but that would be extremely hard to prove, especially since his performance was sub-par his last year in SF and he was benched for Blaine Gabbert.... Had he been coming off the Superbowl season where he played lights out then maybe he would have a case.

The question is he worth the distractions and media circus his presence will cause? if he was putting up Tom Brady like numbers, then every owner would be willing to put up with his social commentary/protests. He's not putting up those numbers and in fact his skills have shown a steady decline. Why cause more headaches and distractions, its hard enough to win in this league, without distractions, his presence will potentially be a problem

I'm surprised he got such a hot shot lawyer. That guy ought to know better. If there was collusion, do you really think anybody would be dumb enough to have it on paper or e-mails?

Many players have been passed up in the past because they'd be too much of a distraction to the rest of the team. Kap is apparently an attention hound, and that doesn't make for much of a team spirit. His having such a chip on his shoulder now just proves it

I agree. He should be playing somewhere.

Maybe the CFL since he doesn't seem to like America.

In other news, Ezekiel Elliotts suspension has been put on hold for 2 more weeks. They should have taken the suspension the first 6 weeks. Now he's going to be suspended when they play all the hard teams.

nah. he can play here in the states.

he's protesting racism and police brutality. both things exist.

if anything we should stop playing the anthem before sporting events.

Why not protest black on black crime? Why not protest domestic violence? These happen way more than unjustified police brutality towards blacks.

How does kneeling for the anthem fix anything? If the players really cared, they should go in the off season to the hood and see what truly goes down there.

it brings attention though.

i do all sorts of stuff that are part of our freedoms and they don't play the anthem before i do them.

stop playing the anthem.

i'm not a big fan of his by any stretch but he is a pretty decent QB, or he can be...

Keyword "can be"
No owner wants to face fan backlash for a qb that can be/might be good. TV ratings already down.
Kapernick isn't an Aaron rodgers.

I wonder how dj fulkers going to do against the seahawks defense, dude is 345 pounds.

The fact that this hotshot lawyer is taking this case makes me feel like there is some kind of smoking gun.... I imagine they have some kind of communication or recording.... That lawyer would know that without it proving collusion would be nearly impossible, so why even take the case. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

So just because you don't like the way something is being done in your country that means you don't like it? I suppose you like every little thing that goes on in America and your life is perfect, you dont get upset about anything ever here?

“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick

PERSONALLY I support equal rights for everyone and do not like racism/bullying/harassment or unjustified cop shootings. But I believe there are way bigger problems in the minority communities than police brutality and what the nfl players are protesting. If anything, they should be protesting to raise awareness for black on black crime, having kids with 5 different women, joining gangs, and all the other problems that start from within the minority communities.

You guys remember Michael Bennet claiming police brutality when he was in the casino in Vegas? The tapes came out and he was clearly in the wrong.

Also protesting during work without any consequences is not a constitutional right.

Ryan Mallet and Brock Osweiler both having a job in the NFL is the smoking gun.:p:D Seriously, they're the worst QB's I've seen in a Texans uniform, yep, even worse than Lienart and Weeden. Even though Kaep is a low tier QB, he a better option than those two.

lol Brock osweiler pretty much stole the money he's earned these last 2 years. He was getting franchise qb money for playing worst than most backups.

the obviously edited tapes... I don't think we'll ever know the truth on that one since the police took their time editing the tape before releasing it.
