I'm not sure when his contract expires, they Patriots are tight lipped on what they pay their coaches, but this may very well me some level of succession planning.
Do you think Brady got it for another year? The guy is 40 going for 41.

This guy had over 500 passing yards against the eagles defense, I think he'll do another year.Do you think Brady got it for another year? The guy is 40 going for 41.
Report: Brady will skip OTAs unless he gets paid like Jimmy G
I don't know if this report is true, but its believable. If true, it puts the Patriots in a sticky situation, they have a player in his 40s who has father time against him, yet wants to be paid extremely high. His prior history has shown that he is probably the best QB of all time, but he's in the sunset years of his career. Yet with that said, the Patriots traded away what could have been a great replacement.
I'm reminded of when Steve Young ascended to the starter role with the 49ers. True it was due to Montana getting injured, but the Franchise moved to trade Montana and stick with Young. I'm sure if the Pats had gone down the path of keeping Jimmy G and trading Brady, there would be mass revolt but now look at where the Patriots are. An aging QB who still has great skills, but you wonder how much longer he has, and there is no viable replacement in the works.
That's good, I guess, but part my point however is that patriots don't have anyone in succession for Brady, and that will hurt them sooner or laterThe Boston Herald has already pulled the story from their web site. The "reporter," Ron Borges, was scammed by someone pretending to be Garappolo's agent.
Here's the PFT update:http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ly-will-be-retracting-a-patriots-story-again/

In all likeihood, I think the 2018 season will be telling. Will we see a gradual decrease in his ability, or will he fall off the cliff, like Peyton ManningI'd say sooner.
Yeah, like Brett FavreI am hoping he doesn't stick around just to stick around

I doubt a few bad seseaons because of aging will take away from Tom bradys legacy as goat. But I think belchik would drop him if his production drops off like Peyton Mannings.I am hoping he doesn't stick around just to stick around. I would hate for his legacy, to be remembered for his decline or rapid decline over the next few years if he is unable to maintain his ability to compete at the level that is needed for the NFL.

I think Bill retires when Brady retires. What are the chances Belicheck stays around past next year. With McDaniels waiting in the wings now is Bill ready to walk away.
I still think he’s angry at having to trade Jimmy G. He might leave over it.I think Bill retires when Brady retires.
It will be a bitter sweet day when that happens. I would sorely miss watching the greatest coach/qb duo in action. But then I would love to see all the bandwagon fans abandon the Patriots when they stink it up under McDaniels. I know a few Patriots fans--real Patriots fans--who would love to cheer for their team again without being instantly viewed as bandwagon fans.
Oh, no question about that. But, we’re in uncharted territory now. They can’t get rid of Brady until Brady decides he’s done and they can’t afford to pay a backup who’s able to step in and replace him right now. They need to draft Garoppolo 2.0 and hope they can get him ready when Brady retires in a year or two. Easier said than done. But, as a lifelong Patriots fan, I’m perfectly OK with a few seasons of mediocrity if that’s the price of the Belichick/Brady years.
They could try Jimmy g if seattle doesn't resign him.Forget about Brady. Gronk is probably going to retire this off-season.

Jimmy g would probably go back to saints production stats in new England.Ya I don't think Graham is gonna be with Seattle next season.
