I really hope it does not have the curved edge. I used the 7 edge and it sucked.

New screen yes.. home button built into that.. I don't think so. At least not after they just redesigned it. Going to be around for a bit longer before Apple tells people the home button is old technology we needed to remove it to make room for more things.
We'll think again honey! Because this years home button is exactly a real one. It looks like one. They secretly covered it up. It'll be a shocker !!

Yeah, I'm sure the 2 of like 20 people familiar with the final design that's locked in Ive's design lab a year in advance jeopardized their careers to leak info to the NY Times

It takes an enormous amount of planning even at this early stage, so I imagine there are over 100 people inside Apple who have know about the design. Starting down from Ive and the design engineers, to the mechanical engineers working on the body, to the electrical engineers working on the screen and embedded buttons, to the software engineers working on the OLED display controller and iOS changes, to the business and logistics employees working on the deals to secure the OLED and parts needed, to the marketing people already working on how to position the premium model, etc.. etc.. etc..

I'm so ready for the 10th Anniversary iPhone.
June 29, 2017!!!! Exactly 10 years after iPhone 2G !!!!!! At least they'll unveil it lol. with so many people now on upgrade programs across different carriers and even Apple, anyone can get a new phone after 6 months! - 9 months in a half more!!

No doubt it was always Apple's intention to have this design after the iPhone 6 design, but they just couldn't do it in two years and had to stretch the iPhone 6 design out to last three years. Nothing about being lazy or not innovating.

Exactly. It's not as simple as drawing it on a white board and sending it to China to be made. The engineering process takes time, especially when you want to do it right. Then they have to secure all the parts and even create new manufacturing processes to actually build the device. It's a big project.

but overall the 5s is/was the best designed iPhone to date.
That's a popular opinion, but it's still an opinion. Many people like the 4/4S better. I loved my 5S, but I also love the smooth, organic feel of my 6, and it is my favorite to hold without a case since my 3GS. They fixed a lot of the visual drawbacks with the 7 (better antenna lines and more natural/acceptable camera bump), and I think it will leave a very good legacy, especially with the two black finish options.

You might be on the wrong site, this is macRUMORS.

I'm fully aware, but this isn't the first article they've had about the 2017 iPhone. There have been plenty published already, all saying the same thing. Not much will change in that narrative between now and Friday.

So the $649 4.7" phone will be considered low-end, with the Plus being mid and this beauty the Edition? smh

Probably my first and only year to year upgrade. I'll usually wait 2 years and I just bought the 7 plus. But I think I'll buy this model also.

A bit of bezel just seems like it would be "safer" to me, like I'm not going to accidentally touch the screen just because I try to grip the edges. Especially if the phone has rounded edges.
