Patriots - Chiefs was a good game. That Mahome kid has a future in this game.
It was an incredible game that certainly lived up to the hype of being the best game of the week. I really enjoyed watching the shootout, 83 points is just insane.

So has everyone given up on defense?

It seems almost normal now to see 40 points being scored by one team, if not both.

Given the way the NFL has made changes to the rules favoring the offense, I'm not surprised to see the scores going up.

All the rules protect offensive players and allow offensive players to maul defensive players. I can't believe they still allow the stiff arm, which 90% of the time is shoving the defender by the facemask. And cut blocking. Ugh. Touch the QB below the knees (Bennett's sack on Cousins where Cousins landed with his weight on Bennett) and it's a roughing foul, but take out a defender's legs is perfectly fine.
I got hooked on the NFL during the late 70's. It was not 20 years ago I would watch the NFL religiously. Now I only flip to the game to check the score or maybe catch a half time show. Another 10 years I'd probably have zero interest left. They're ruining the game; it's become more and more WWE.

I've largely stopped watching the NFL, but I have seen some games, and I have to agree with you. I saw a QB get tackled cleanly but the defense was flagged for roughing because he landed on top of him - WTF. They can't tackle high, they can't tackle low, and now they can't tackle it seems.

I know ratings are up, but I'm not liking how they're managing the game with the rules.

I wonder what will happen with the seahawks now that Paul Allen passed away. Hoping bill gates buys them and keeps things the same. It would be awful to have a owner like Jerry Jones.

If its not in his will, the team will be in receivership as the NFL will handle the sale. If I was a betting man, he either stipulated that the team be sold and the proceeds go to a foundation or charity, or his sister inherits the team.

Highly unlikely, while Gates could afford it, he's not shown any proclivity towards owning a team in the past.

Yup. No one is really allowed to play D anymore. That "hitting the QB in the head" penalty from yesterday's Jags-Eagles game was an absolute disgrace. QB slid and the defender literally just touched his shoulders, and it was 15 yards.

I get needing to protect the franchise players, but this is becoming absurd.

Unlike prior years, I think the Cleveland job with the talent already there - its going to be a coveted position.

Wholesale changes coming about it seems. Todd Haley is gone too.

whoa that surprises me... I thought the only reason why Haley took that job was because he knew Hue was a dead man walking and he would have a shot at a HC job soon..... So the Browns make Mr. Bounty gate gregg williams their interim HC? this is why they never get anywhere.... Their defense was doing so well they should have left Williams right where he was.

Cowboys dropped another, I'm starting to think that Jerry Jones is finally going to fire Garrett (not in season but he'll finally pull that trigger which is long overdue). They've had some quality teams over the years but with Garrett at the helm, they only won a single playoff game. I don't understand how he can stick with someone that has such a poor track record. Parcells has said you are as good as your record is, and his record isn't great.

Very surprised to see the Cowboys lose to the Titans last night.

I'm hoping the Broncos get rid of Joseph at the end of the season.

By that logic Jerry would also fire his GM...

Speaking of former Cowboys, Dez Bryant to the Saints Thursday.
