Yes, but these are very different oled displays with lower ppi. If it would be that easy, apple would have no trouble getting oleds for their iphone X.I think I saw pretty big OLED TV sets from Panasonic. IPad seems so much smaller.

Hope they do away with a physical home button.
I could see Apple implementing a Guest user mode where the owner limits what guests can install, but iPads are too storage constrained to allow arbitrary users to download apps and media at their discretion. Your 64GB communal iPad with 48GB free suddenly becomes 17GB free overnight for no apparent reason—unless you could log in on the culprit's account to see he just added Season 7 of Game of Thrones to "your" iPad.No I’m dead serious. In fact this is the most annoying shortcome of the iPad compared to a PC, where you can have multiple user accounts.
You may log off from your social accounts but it does not end there. iMessage is linked to your Apple ID (don’t tell me you use a shared Apple ID) so does FaceTime. So effectively you have to log off from iCloud and App Store as well. Now what about email accounts? You cannot simply logout from email accounts. You have to go to settings and remove them one by one. Considering most of us have more than a single email account, this is totally impractical. And don’t forget calendar, notes, reminders and photos as well.
Seems like you either don’t have too much to do with any of the above mentioned services and use your iPad basically to surf the net, or you go through loops to clear your personal items before you give it to somebody to share it.
YES!
I basically told my self that i would not get a new iPad pro (i have the 1st 12.9 model) till faceID.
I spend the weekend on the iPad pro for about 16 hours of work related matters and no more touch ID would make my experience even better.
But how will you put this in a case if it has no bezels? If you have a case with some bezel, I guess you'll be fine. They make them so thin and now with no bezels, do they think we won't put it in a case just to have some way to hold it?Less likely, I think - there's a good argument for the continued existence of some sort of bezel on iPad, as they can't be grasped by the edges alone. If there's a bezel, the notch is unnecessary.
I'm also expecting to see this migrate to Mac. Whether in 2018 or 2019 I won't guess.
This makes zero sense. Why exactly is using Touch ID such a "burden" for you? How exactly would holding a giant iPad to your face be magically better? Seriously, Please tell us.
I can't speak for him, but for me, the burden is that Touch ID (2nd gen, on new iPad Pro) doesn't work for me half the time (minimal changes to the skin on my thumbs due to weather changes, sweat, etc - it all makes Touch ID not recognize my prints). Honestly, I am considering turning it off completely and just using the passkey straight away.
Also, no one will have to hold a giant iPad to one's face, you'll use it like you normally do and Face ID will work.
I didn't have any coolaid but I noticed my 89 year old mother would not use the touch ID correctly. Such as placing the finger to high or not remembering which finger she used to train it. They actually uses the passcode most of the time as it is more natural for her. Maybe the Face ID would help with her and other people in that category. For most people, Touch ID works fine.

Tunnel carpel and the hand position I must be in to get at home button sometimes
Wet / Cold fingers causing failures on touch id
Cheetos on fingers causing failures on touch id
Holding pencil then using touch id not conducive to touch id.
Dirty touch id button causing failures on touch id
Having to clean the touch id button if i just had a bag of potato chips.
and yeah, i would LITERALLY not have to lift a finger a unlock the iPad and apps.
So yeah, at times it is a relative burden to me.
Now do the above for 16 hours over two days. See if this burdens you are not. It will help you make less silly comments like "this makes zero sense" when you have no idea of my workflow on my iPad.
Wow! I'm sorry, I don't mean to be rude but who the heck eats oily finger foods while using their iPad?! And do adults really eat cheetos?! 16-hours on the iPad over the weekend? I truly hope you remember to stand up every 30min to an hour otherwise the health of your fingers, is the least of your future health issues.
I too don't like switching from pencil to touch ID sometimes but I also don't like the idea of any always watching camera.
Yes adults eat cheetos. what kind of pretentious question is that?
Oh, is that right?! Good luck with that. Pretentious?! LOL!!!!
Yes, and some adults are obese, lazy people. Some adults smoke cigarettes, etc. Eating Cheetos is really all that you took away from the reply overall?! Clearly, you missed the primary point.
If they can dial in the palm/finger rejection stuff I see no reason they can't make a bezel-less iPad.Less likely, I think - there's a good argument for the continued existence of some sort of bezel on iPad, as they can't be grasped by the edges alone. If there's a bezel, the notch is unnecessary.

Yes, your comment lost all interest for me once you made that statement.
That's curious, works like a dream for me and everyone I know. Is it a 5s with first gen TouchID?
I guess the lotion would "fill in", obscuring the fingerprint. No, it's an iPhone 6. Mine works fine too, it's just something about her fingerprint.. lotion she wears.. something.
Better question, if you're using your iPad for 16 hours a day, how often are you really needing to unlock it?
