Updated, even with a wiped drive and clean install it is still 389W on the top left of the 13' TB

If you began to get that reading after an update to Mojave, then wiping the drive and doing a clean install isn't going to change that. The firmware gets updated as part of the Mojave install, but won't get rolled back by going back to an older version or doing another install. It will continue to be there until a subsequent firmware overwrites it and perhaps corrects the reading.

Now when you said it, it became apparent. I have not experienced the wattage issue back in High Sierra, instead I was plagued by Kernel panics and spontaneous chimes problems. Upgrading an external backup to Mojave solved KPs and chime but brought along with the wattage issues.
Given the machine only draws the power it needs from the charger, recognizing a 389w power source should not pose a thread in terms of overpower supply etc.

Will have to wait and see if Mojave GM would solve all these issues once and for all.

Mojave Public Beta 9 is out, downloading now and will report back on if the top-left port watt reporting issue is fixed. Doubt it but I have a free day today so might as well try it out :)

Issue still remains after todays update which will be the final release of Mojave.

Yeah I am now running 18A391 which will be Mojave GM and it is still an issue so I am guessing it is not on Apple's radar for fix.

Got a friend with a 2018 15" MBP who upgraded to Mojave on Tuesday (never ran the beta) to check and he gets 432W reported on the top-left port so I think it is safe to say this isn't caused by the beta. Maybe Apple will fix it now that it seems every 2018 MBP will be reporting an incorrect value for the top-left port. Who knows though.

Got a new MacBook Pro 15" on 2018-10-03. Top left port shows charger wattage of 432 W, other three ports shows charger wattage of 86 W (87 W original charger). i9/32GB/1TB/560X, Manufacture date 2018-09-17 and Mojave 10.14 installed, Apple T2 chip Firmware Version: 16P375. Only one chime when plugging in the charger, no sound when the battery is full.

I reported this bug to Apple through here: https://www.apple.com/feedback/macbookpro.html
Everyone who has affected MacBook Pro should report too.

I'm currently running a beta 10.14.1 (18B67a). Apple has changed the information in System Information-> Power. All four of my USB-C ports show Wattage (W) 86, so it looks like this was addressed either in wording or ports are actually charging at this power, so when this is released, we can retire this thread.

Same issue (cycling, intermittent chime when powered, battery charged and idle).

MMB Pro 2016
Mojave (I think problem 1st seen post install)

As well as the chime the 'full battery' (green) icon flashes on the screen. VPN connection also cycles (ie disconnects and reconnects).

Did anyone get a response from Apple?

Can confirm top left port is now reporting 86W correctly (as do all other ports) and the chime issue was resolved a while back. So I am happy to reporting my 2018 15" MBP is now perfect :)

Yeah, I think this particular thread can be declared closed, unfortunately Rich_C your issue whilst sounding similar won't be directly related to this one.

I can confirm too, macos 14.10.1 with original charger, all ports show now 86 W for charging. :)

Well, I have a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2016), running Mojave 10.14.1 (18B75), and I use the "AUKEY USB C Charger with 60W"; and when my laptop is sleeping and charging, and it reaches the 100% of battery it starts to sound the charging chime every 2 minutes aprox.

System Info->Power:
AC Charger Information: 60watts (with Aukey charger)
AC Charger Information: 86watts (with Apple original charger)

Is this a firmware issue, or OSX issue, or maybe a problem with my Aukey charger?
How did you solve this issue?

Thanks and Regards!
Morris
