That is a big piece of glass to keep clean and scratch free, particularly after carrying it around for two years.

Hope the rear glass can be replaced inexpensively.

No, I just assumed that no one would focus solely on appearance and ignore functionality. I guess I was wrong.
Yes you were. Why would you assume someone who made no mention of functionality was focusing on functionality? Someone discussing something different from what you're thinking shouldn't be so surprising.

The difference being, I never once used the word ‘ugly’ in my post as you’re indicating. Regardless if it is the final design, you’re adding unnecessary words. What I find about this the look, is it obtrusive, which I think we can all agree on.
Pedantic, semantics. Pick whatever word you'd like.

That mock up with the camera set up on the back looks way to obtrusive. I mean, I gather we don’t really look at the back of our iPhones, and most use cases, but that design element looks oddly off-putting. Hopefully the final product doesn’t look exactly like that.
Somebody should paste your comment unde roffical press release of the new iPhone, when it turns out it DOES look like that :D

smh. No.

Apple believes in a wireless future. Just because they failed to engineer a wireless charger that can charge anywhere on its surface, doesn’t mean Apple will drop wireless charging. lol that’s absurd.

And I don’t think AirPower would’ve charged your device any faster than any other wireless charger. It’s best used when you go to bed or are putting your phone down to charge as you switch to an iPad or Mac.
Years before Apple believed in a wireless future, Samsung and LG Released phones with wireless charging. We laughed, said it is stupid since your phone is already on the nightstand, why not just plug it?

Apple says that buzzline and talk about a super charger mat and we think it's the best thing ever. They even modify the iPhone and Apple Watch and the just released pods case... 18 months later they cancel T and we say 'it's ok, we ar good anyway'. We didn't need it, Apple can do no wrong.

SMH indeed

I didn't say you were focusing on it. In fact, I made it clear that you were ignoring it. I just didn't expect you to ignore it on purpose. It wouldn't be surprising if we were talking about artwork, but we're not. It's fine that you want to complain about appearance and ignore functional reasons for that appearance. That's your prerogative. However, don't act as though others are being dramatic for calling you out on it.

To think people used to complain about Apple pursuing form over function. My, how the turn tables.

If this holds true, it is a classic Ive design. He is the single greatest design hack to ever walk this earth.

Apple 'leaks' this god awful design, creates uproar
Apple releases something more inline with the S10 or something decent looking
Apple users sigh of relief, take my money Tim Apple.

All a big sales ploy, you saw it here first ;)

Apple used to have nice looking phones... But this "three-lens system" don't look good... The technology is there to make it all in one. Does it really need to be that big on the back?

this is not the ugliest iPhone ever, but the ugliest device the man has created ever!!!
I hope long long time ago, in a far galaxy, there were ugliest devices, though I doubt it! XD

Not if you charge your phone overnight, then it doesn’t really matter how long it takes. I don’t understand why so many people don’t charge their phones overnight, I mean it’s just laying there while you sleep, why not have it charging?

so, what's the big advantage of layig your phone over a mat for 8 hours? the process to connect it to a wire is so quick as fast that for 8 hours, it doens't have any advantage compared to a robust alu-back!

more over, the mat is not the perfect solution, if you says, "man you can lay your phone everywhere you want and it will start charging" but is not! you need you put it in a specific place, so the phone must be always that way, if you talk, there is no charge, so is a far from perfect way to charge a phone, I have a mat in my bed table and other in my desktop, but I found out I use the speedy wall charge the most of the time, charging mat is more for a perfect and schedule way of live, but having childrens having the phone in a table at home is nearly impossible. A full charge iPhone at middle day is starving for energy, and the mat doesn't help.

so wireless charging at night vs strong structure... mmm to me there is a clear winner

Thicker!?
It's about ***** Time!
  • More battery
  • stronger (bend resistance)
these phones are so thin now, squatting with the phone in your pocket can break them.
[doublepost=1554930898][/doublepost]I miss the good old iPhone design.

  1. Metal trim (just Looked great)
  2. Flat sides - could stand on it own, no need to prop it up with anything
  3. Flat back
What's wrong with a Wedge?
  1. Camera can be as deep as they want
  2. More battery
  3. flat back
  4. Flat sides
this solves so many problems and looks good doing it.
