Apple is widely expected to unveil a trio of new iPhones in September, and 9to5Mac has revealed a few new features we can expect.

First, the report claims all three models will feature a revamped Taptic Engine codenamed "leap haptics," but it is unknown what will be different. 2019 iPhones are expected to ship without 3D Touch, with Apple moving to long-press-based context menus in iOS 13, so there could be related hardware changes.

In addition, the report says the front-facing camera on 2019 iPhones will gain support for slo-mo video recording at 120 frames per second.

Beyond that, the report corroborates some previous rumors. For example, the rumored wide-angle lens on higher-end 2019 iPhones is expected to enable users to automatically repair a photo or a video to fit in a subject that may have accidentally been cut off from the initial shot, as Bloomberg previously reported.

Earlier this year, reputable analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said 2019 iPhones will also feature larger batteries to accommodate a two-way charging feature that would allow accessories like AirPods or an Apple Watch to charge on the back of the iPhone.

Apple's annual iPhone event is likely just over six weeks away.

We don't use "advanced" camera feature that much anyways. The regular camera from iPhone 6s works as fine as the one in my iPhone XS max. some picture quality we cannot tell when uploaded to instagrams and facebook... smh if that cost over $1000 again... very disappointed.

I’d rather have a wide-angle selfie cam than slow motion. I hope we get that eventually.

At this rate, the only way Apple will make the iPhone 2019 desirable is if they include a feature that lets you get a sneak peek + early preorder for the 2020 iPhone.

The more I hear about the 2019 iPhones, the more boring and underwhelming they get.

It's a phone, at this point there really isnt much to do to improve them on a yearly basis. Just enjoy fact you can now use them for 4-5 years instead of dropping $1k/year.

Me too. Thinking of paying the XS Max loan off and living phone debt free this year. There's nothing compelling about these 2019 phones.

I'm excited about a wider-angle camera. I'll also be going back to the smaller size... XS Max is my first plus-size phone and I'm honestly not a huge fan of the form factor.

Agreed...but comparing these 2019 phones to the S10 tells you how far behind Apple is on the hardware side

I have the exact two phones and I much adore Xs Max's camera. Especially the Portrait mode, which is just superb.

I’ve waited this long with my 7. What’s one more year? Not much in the way of attention grabbing necessity here. But suffice it to say it will THE FASTEST IPHONE EVER. I have the iPad Pro and would like to get the phone when both will have the same charge port so I can stop carrying around 2 different chargers/cords. Hopefully next years computer in your hand prices will justify the upgrade. As for now my family’s phone bill will continue to reflect 4 paid off 7s.
