Bittersweet. I like Bottas so nice to see him keep his drive. Unfortunately Lewis wipes the floor with Bottas, so there goes our last chance for a close battle in 2021 🤐

I‘m curious, who would you have liked to see in that ride For 2021? Really weren’t any options that I saw.

It would have been cool to see Danny Ric partnering Lewis, I think that could be a bromance with those two. I think he’ll be having a good laugh next season though in that McLaren and Carlos might be sat in the middle of the shambles at the Scuderia wondering what he’s done .

Agreed. I feel for Carlos. I’ve always wanted to see him have success.

to be fair, Lewis wipes the floor with pretty much everyone. Technical failures and race strategy errors notwithstanding, Bottas is a decent driver, but an even better number 2 at Mercedes.
The Formula1.com article, I think, nailed the situation. Bottas is a consistent driver who scores a lot of points, earns a lot of podiums and is a team player enough to not hinder Lewis. As long as he keeps up with these three things, he will have a seat for the next few years.
Think about the disaster at Ferrari with Vettel and Leclerc. Or how RBR was with Max and Daniel. I think RBR has a more clear team order now, but Albon just isn’t as consistent.

There seems to be a bit of confusion on this. Perez tested positive last week and had to isolate for 7 days, but if you think you might have it, you have to isolate for 10. Doesn't make sense. So now I'm assuming he has to isolate for a further 7 starting from yesterday?

Perez should be isolating for 14 days minimum I would say. He tested positive and if the general public at required to isolate for 14 days after returning from abroad, Perez who should be included.

Is there a reason why despite the tyres being a step softer this week, they're still labelled the same (soft, medium, hard)?

Because this weeks' softs are actually ultrasofts. Just seems they like confusing people!

Because they are always labelled the same relative softnesses. The actual compound changes week to week but the colours and names stay the same. It was actually more confusing before they did this as the yellow (soft) tyre might or might not be the softest tyre that weekend (they might be using the super-softs too). So now the same colour is the same relative softness week to week.

Good explanation here: https://www.espn.co.uk/f1/story/_/id/25034914/formula-one-tyres-simplified-names-colours-2019

Basically pre-2019 some weeks the soft (yellow) tyre was the hardest tyre being run and that was confusing!

Lewis will only need three of them whatever the compound! :p

I know they used to label them what they actually are. Purple for ultrasofts & pink for hypersofts.

I expect the track record to be broken again this weekend.

Silverstone even in the height of summer still has a brisk breeze. I’ve worn shorts on a hot sunny day and been caught out lol. When you consider these cars operate in places like Bahrain, Silverstone is positively Baltic by comparison

Bottas was the right move for Merc but if the best car on the grid suddenly had an open seat I'm sure Max, Seb, or Alonso could instantly become available. In the pre-Bottas days at least we had Nico vs Lewis to keep us entertained.

Well done Valtteri. 😉 Interesting how motivating a one year contract can be.

Nice drive by Daniel as well. Looking forward to McLaren next year. 😉

Vettlel looks lost. His passion is gone. He has no anger in his driveing.
Unless Ferrari is using him as a test mule his appearance reinforces my opinion that retirement from F1 will be this year.
