I’d like to see Russell drive it to be honest as he’s a Mercedes development driver. Is it 10 or 14 days in isolation? If I catch it it’s 14 days currently under our rules, not sure for F1 drivers though? lol
I don't think the covid rule makers even know the rules. I'm sure you can't just pull a driver who's already with another team? Would be good to see someone get the chance who might actually drive for Mercedes one day.

There should be a special rule for Lewis. Cancel everything until he's better. 😂

Pulling a driver from another team has been done in the past if they have contractual links etc. I remember Fisichella being pulled from Force India to Ferrari in 2009 after Badoer turned out to be pants in a racing situation. There are quite a few others too but I can’t imagine Williams agreeing to it as every point counts for them right now.

Given Russell is a Mercedes driver, there's a good chance there's a contract clause in there somewhere.

Vandoorne on the way to the circuit, but he would've been even without the positive test apparently. So maybe not decided yet.

It's time for Valterii Bottas to step up. And I think he will. I'd like to think by now he'd have run out of bad luck for the 2020 season.

Who knows, maybe we'll have a real duel between Bottas and Verstappen in the next couple (?) of races.

George Russell it is!!!

Really happy about this, he deserves it.

Looking forward to seeing how it goes during free practice, into qualifying and then race day. Russell has a steep learning curve ahead for sure.

And how tough will it feel going back to the Williams having had a taste of the Mercedes....
Agreed. It will be a change of pace that’s for sure!

How often do F1 teams change both drivers at once? Based on poor showings the past couple of seasons I'm not surprised that Haas was gonna replace either Mags or Grosjean but I wasn't expecting both gone, and a whole new lineup for 2021.

I'm not familiar with Mazepin at all but it sounds like his daddy's money (like the Strolls) is a big reason he's getting a seat. I'll be keen to see Mick race and how he fares. Another reason to be interested in the only US team for next year, and the storyline I'll follow aside from Lewis chasing #8.

I am very happy for Russell but at the same time I think we need to be somewhat cautious about our expectations. If he finishes top 10 I think that would be a good result

I believe a large part of these changes are to reduce the cost of the team.
