2020 Macbook Air order status

Apple Estimated arrival was 20-28 may, now according to the e-mail by Apple, it will arrive in 22 may. However, in the Apple's and UPS page it is 30 April. There is a huge gap between them. Which one do you think will be more accurate? Is it strange that they e-mailed and messaged me a different date than the estimated date on the order page?

Should I order an i3 via apple or amazon? Does it make a difference?

If you're ordering the base model, unless you have a specific reason to order it from Apple, I would just get it elsewhere. I have Amazon Prime with their 5% cash back card (or special financing) and also a Best Buy card that comes with some perks.

Both of those would be better for me than 3% on Apple Card. And you'll get the laptop significantly faster.

If it has shipped, then the updated information from UPS will be the most accurate.

My guess is that it will ship Monday or Tuesday, and you’ll get it between Wednesday and Friday.

UK here too - i5/8/256. Ordered 17 April with delivery 6-14 May. Still processing at the moment. Hopefully mine will be on the same plane as yours and I’ll see movement soon! Could do with seeing mine next week too but not optimistic.

Also in the UK! in London with i5/16/256, but didn't order till the 24th of April. My delivery estimate was 14-20 May. I got the gold one, might make a diff which casing is involved.

Hi folks! Advice needed on my order!
I ordered a MacBook on Apr 18 (i5/8gb/512gb golden), and saw my credit card got charged on Apr 24 (showing pending payment). Meanwhile the order status changed from "processing" to "preparing to ship".
However, when I logged into my online banking just now, the payment disappeared. The order status is still "preparing to ship" though.
Has anyone got the same issue? Any clues on that?

I kind of think this happens. Don’t worry about it too much I think you’ll see it will go through once it actually ships.

If it’s a credit card maybe you can see how much credit you have left and if you have a MacBook chunk of money missing then it means you will get charged?

I think it’s fine though.

I kind of think this happens. Don’t worry about it too much I think you’ll see it will go through once it actually ships.

Thanks for your help! Yeah I checked my balance and saw the credit deduction for the MacBook price. So I guess the payment just disappears for a while but will eventually show up later (maybe tomorrow).

I think yours might be well ahead of mine, despite order date being just a day earlier, and original delivery window beginning a day before. Mine is still processing.

Departure Scan from "EPZ, China" at 14:30 (presumably local time) today. Guess the key will be when it gets on a flight, and how quickly it then gets to the UK.

I know DHL tend to fly into a Northern European hub (Rotterdam?) before coming to the UK, but unsure on UPS. The more steps, the more potential for delays in the current climate.

I had a feeling it was something with the i7s. I ordered that same config from Apple on March 29 and the order never went anywhere so I canceled it last week.

I almost ran out of patience, too. I’m happy to report that 19 business days later the i7 has been delivered!
