Order my first make ever, a MBA, i5/16/512.
Ordered on April 16th. Forecasted delivery date was May 1st-8th. Through my banking app, I was charged on my debit card on the 26th. Is was a pending transaction on my account until the 29th. Although, it doesn't look like the money has been taken. Order has been upgraded to Getting Ready to Ship. I'm trying to be patient.

I buyed it from Gravis an Media Store in Germany. Thats also where it gets shipped, Cologne, Germany. I have no status because the shop buys it from apple and they get the status. If i am thinking about it now i should have bought it directly from apple.

I this order one my self I went with i5/8GB/256
this is going too be a major upgrade over my MacBook air 2017 am now in processing has well
you will have to ask the place you bought it from. They may have some tracking details themselves.
Congrats and hopefully it goes through soon! This will be my first mac since my 2011 Macbook Air (which is still holding its own albeit connected to a monitor due to a broken screen). I've since taken a small hiatus with a windows gaming pc and an ipad pro. It's time to go back!

Much of the delay is due to lack of air freight. Globally, there's not enough capacity due to the current circumstances.
The fact that Apple offers free delivery for a custom config in 2-4 weeks under current conditions is pretty decent.
Mine is on its way. Apple says the 8th. FedEx says the 4th.

Your last sentence is the important one. With everything going on, a custom order on anything should have some subdued expectations. Six months ago on the other hand.
The really important lesson is to order a base model when possible.

I clearly have issues. I’ve never been this happy to see a charge on my credit card come through on my phone.

MBA i5/16Gb/1Tb ordered. I have had Mac Mini, White MacBook, MBP, MBA and now 2020 MBA. Only the MBP has been sold. Note selling on eBay gives way more money than an Apple trade in.
Also some talk now suggesting no new 14" MBP in the near future

I agree eBay gives way more. Normally i go the eBay route but going to a post office seems to be so hard now! I may go in between and sell to a reseller.
MusicMagpie is pretty good too. They often have codes for extra cash.

you are right. That was my thinking. I don’t need the space as I’m at 120gb on my current Mac. Will do a fresh install so Im hoping that will go down. Figured for the same price as the i5 / 512 i could just get the extra RAM. Which i don’t need but maybe in 4 years I might!
Same config here, except in silver and in the US. I also ordered the 24th, but haven’t been charged yet.
Oh - maybe it has something to do with the colour? I also want to clarify one thing. A charge was made on my credit card. It came up as a notification on my phone but if I check my account it’s still a pending charge. But the money is missing in my available credit now. This was not the case yesterday.
When I log on to Apple still says processing. I ordered 24th afternoon UK time of that makes a diff.
My order should have been delivered yesterday (Apr 29) according to the UPS website. However it's delayed since last night's update. The most recent tracking shows that it's just few miles from my home, and yet I cannot get it, which I assume, even today. I went to the indicated UPS warehouse earlier today, and was told that it was shipped for delivery from there last night, and I can do nothing but wait.
Also checking from the UPS website, it says due to the COVID-19 situation, the UPS Standard (which is my parcel's shipping category) might delay for 2 days. I understand this is a difficult time for shipping services so I cannot complain too much. Just lacking patience a little, and hope it'll deliver to me soon.
I also hope everyone here gets their MacBook Air soon!
That is frustrating. I feel for you. We are fortunate that we get to wait for MacBooks in a pandemic and yes there are bigger issues but you are allowed to want to see your MBA. I hope you get it soon and I hope maybe you got some late delivery today.
mine sat in processing for a day or two after my charge became pending with my bank... I wouldn’t be surprised if yours shipped sometime tonight...

Hopefully one more hop to England tomorrow. UPS predicted delivery time is still Tuesday 5 May.
Check Hermes (if UK). I used them to sell 7 guitars and worked every time. They will pick up from home. Post Office not working very well at the moment. Devices like Kindles are selling very well so maybe a MacBook air will get a very good price at this time. I hope so.
