I'm on the same boat. Ordered on May 9th but not yet been charged... (I'm in Japan and ordered the same config with you with Silver version)
 
Woke up to see that my mbp had arrived in Osaka. I’m quite curious about the flight path it’ll take to get to NC!
 
Arrived in Louisville, KY on the 16th. Has been in a “cleared customs” status and not moved for 2 days. What’s this all about? I’ve never had anything shipped from Apple that’s come over from China sit like this. Usually the moment it is in the U.S. it is out for delivery the next day.

I feel like ours will be preparing to ship tomorrow as I have seen people on this post who have ordered on the 8th of may move through to shipping this morning

I ordered on the 5th, and my order was shipped yesterday.

I had the pre-auth for the full amount a few days before shipping, which dropped off.

I was charged outright for the Apple Care today, the day after shipping. Still no charge for the MBP on my statement, but it'll come.

All cards show things a bit differently. At least on Amex UK, you can expect to see the pre-auth (a 'pending' amount, either as a standalone statement entry, or simply by your remaining balance being reduced by the charged amount) a day or two before it enters 'Preparing to Ship'. The final charges come shortly after the time of dispatch.

I think it'll miss the main hop to DTW today, so I'm gonna guess that mine won't actually be out for delivery until Thursday. Shame since it's only due to the nearly 8 hour flight delay.

I think I’m in the same boat although my departure scan from anchorage says 23:10PM so not sure if that lines up with the 10:34pm departure time shown on that flight. i Think the difference there might be the time zones? guess I will know soon once that flight lands.

Any idea what the next flight to Mount Hope would be that our packages would likely be on after in lands in Louisville?
 
When people refer to base model, does that refer to the machines you can buy that are not BTO? Or does it only refer to the £1299 and £1799 models only.

In the context of this release I take it to mean the two port models, but people could read it the other way too.
 
Mine is in the fedex sorting center 12 minutes away from me, but they’ll deliver it tomorrow morning. Any chance they would give it to me if I just went to them and asked for it?

Ordered from Best Buy yesterday and it shipped and will be here tomorrow! Paid for overnight shipping so total turnaround is ~36 hours.

MBP 13“ - i7/16GB/512gb. Ordered May 5th. Original delivery dates

UPS delivery date set for Friday May 22. Apple says delivery is set for May 28th.

So unless UPS changes the date - guess who will be waiting at home on May 22!!!!
 
thank you for this journey. i’ve been waiting for 16 days, and they finally just surprised me with it! it was supposed to arrive tomorrow.

Guessing it will be on the DTW flight tomorrow, spend all day in la-la-land, then be on truck for delivery on Thursday. We'll see!
 
My i5/16GB/512gb arrived from Box this morning after ordering on Friday night. It was delayed due to some shipping issues.

First impressions are good - the machine is very responsive & snappy doing all the usual things. Even with a Windows VM running alongside a dozen or so apps while also doing all the usual setup stuff there's no slowdown at all and the fans are only coming on when I'd expect them to.

Ok, now we have real progress. I received the shipping email while in blissful dreamland followed by the invoice an hour later. Although Apple says delivery is on May 28th, UPS says Scheduled Delivery: 5/22/2020

Latest scan has the package departing Shanghai at 8:05 PM, which was 7:05 AM my time. If that’s accurate, I’m hoping I can get it even sooner than this Friday! Now I can leave Apple alone and just look for alerts from the UPS app.

So my package apparently sat in a Shanghai warehouse overnight waiting to clear customs. The export scan didn’t take place until late in their afternoon, then departed not long after. It’s now sitting in Osaka, JP with an Arrival scan.

Guess my MBP is going on a little world tour. No wonder I won’t see it until Friday. Now I’m more interested in where else it will stop before it reaches me.
