2020 MacBook Pro order status

Sigh. Not sure if it’s going to make it. I would expect an arrival scan in Portland, and then an “Out for Delivery” scan at this point. Unfortunately, FedEx doesn’t deliver on the weekend out here. So I may have to wait until Monday. :-(
Have you called UPS and, after waiting about an hour to talk to someone, asked the person to call the local depot to inquire what's going on with it? You might have to call a few times before you get someone who cares enough to put you on hold and make that call but I found that approach to be helpful with another of my recent (and also horribly delayed) UPS deliveries.
I've been in touch with UPS Canada's Twitter Support and he told me my package is in an unloaded trailer waiting to be unloaded for delivery. Pretty much what I've suspected. I can't imagine that calling in, I'll be told anything else. I am hoping this is based off internal tracking and not just a copy paste reply that they give out when they see "destination scan".
I'm going to give it until next week, I guess. I think I just got unlucky here and it really is on an unloaded trailer. Someone else just had one of their packages show up after no scans since the 12th. This seems to be the norm. I just hadn't really been impacted until now. Unfortunate as out of all the packages we've had UPS, this is the only one I actually need as it's for work from home. 😂
I wonder if it's the weight. 8.4lbs isn't much...but higher than all our other UPS packages and I do suspect they "hold" heavier packages due to limited space on trucks because of the volume of packages waiting to be delivered. People have had shipments from Wayfair that came in two parts, they'd get one delivered and the second - much heavier - package would come like a week later.
Good luck with yours - mine just arrived! Can’t wait for my user migration to finish so I can see how much faster it is than my 2013 MacBook Pro... Been holding off so long for another non-butterfly Pro.
I hope this machine is flawless as I don’t think I can take that wait again!
Okay, just changed to shipped and it's supposed to be here Tuesday the 26th,,,,,but it's in Nashville, Tennessee???? What happened to China?

It feels so much smaller than my mid-2009 because I was so used to the massive bezels lol.

The standard non BTO configs are produced in higher volume and some get shipped from US warehouses where they must have already arrived from China it seems. I am returning my initial launch day BTO order (already delivered but unopened) and re-ordered an "ultimate" config. Didn't re-order till 5/19 AM but also hoping it comes from within US and ships out faster than expected.

The high end spec should really outperform beyond expectations after a few weeks of settling in.
future models I hope Apple begins to use 1-level vapour champers using graphene to dissipate heat from the cpu, as it may finally allow a GPU within the 13/14” design ... something much needed for sustained tasks requiring high performance.

Congrats! This machine is a beast. I have the i5/32GB/512GB version and this system flies. I don't know if its the extra ram that is helping but I don't think I've ever had a faster notebook computer. I'm absolutely loving the new keyboard and actually growing fond of the touchbar, didn't think I would like it. takes some getting used to but it's quite handy.

Nothing more to say, really. I acknowledge that the pandemic has caused massive backlogs but it seems there's no end in sight. I now have to make some sort of alternative arrangement for my work from home.
The only reason I didn't order from Best Buy was because they quoted me a May 27-28 delivery date. Apple quoted me May 20, so I rolled the dice knowing they ship UPS.
At this rate, I'll be lucky to get it on May 28th.

My feelings are the same. Just to try to exhaust the resources I've got 4 virtual machines (GNS3, OS10.14, Windows 10, Ubuntu 18.04) running simultaneously along with four different IDEs (IntelliJ, CLion, Pycharm, VSCode), and all of my normal user programs open. Just starting to touch on the swap file and the CPU isn't at all taxed. It's crazy to have so much power in such a small machine!
Wow. That’s insane. I love this machine. I thought I may have some regret not waiting for the 14 inch model but I have absolutely no regrets whatsoever. Such an awesome form factor.

Damn that’s really too bad. I realize there are bigger problems in the world right now but I can imagine how disappointed you must feel right now. Hang in there because the wait is so worth it. It’s a beast of a machine!
I just got my 13" low end 2020 machine today. It's sweet. Way faster than my 2013 15" MBP, and the keyboard is great. I love the Touch Bar, the size is awesome, and the screen is fantastic. What's interesting to me is that the silver color is noticeably darker than the silver color of my 2013 MBP. I had assumed silver would be the same color.
