2020 MacBook Pro order status

So I had a weird thing happen last night...I decided to order the base model last night via Best Buy’s sale. I paid the premium for UPS next day air shipping with a delivery date of today.
I received a notification from both Best Buy and UPS Wednesday morning that my order had shipped...however last night I got an email from Best Buy stating that UPS was returning my order back to them...I checked my tracking number through UPS and it stated there was a service disruption and the package was being returned to sender. Anyone ever run into this with Best Buy or UPS before?
I’m assuming something happened with Best Buy’s stock and they couldn’t fulfill the order or is this on UPS? Hoping the package didn’t get lost somewhere as I’ve been charged. I decided to immediately place another order for the same model so I don’t miss out on the price and now it’s stating it’ll ship by 6/10. So we’ll see what happens with that I guess.

I'm going to stop saying me too after this, and just shout if I differ. Right now I'm not holding hopes for a delivery before end of next week.
Edit: Update - it just switched to preparing for shipment! You cant be far behind.

Right. same. still processing, but I guess there is a glimmer of hope for me still.
it would really be interesting to understand what really is behind the wording used by UPS in its tracking explanations and therefore what is behind these long Shangai stays
I wouldn't really call it a screw up. At least the date range I got when it initially shipped was June 5 - 9th, so they aren't late or anything.
Isn't a lot of cargo transported on passenger planes anyway? With global flight reduction I don't really blame them for not having single day China to EU shipping. Patience is a virtue!

If that happened to me, I'd get on a chat and have them see if it's just that the status wasn't updated bc if your card has already been charged, that doesn't make sense. I ordered the same machine the day after you; my card has not been charged, but my status changed overnight to "preparing to ship".
UPDATE: Out of curiosity I chatted them and asked why mine says "preparing to ship" but my card hasn't been charged. He assured me that the card will be charged when it actually ships. He said everything is progressing normally. So maybe your's has actually shipped!
