Keep in mind NOR has a 3 grid spot penalty...

Race start is in roughly 1 hr 41 mins

Of course I want Lewis to win, but feel bad for Max. Drove a great race and nothing he could do about that. Glad to see him and Lance walk away. No doubt big questions will be asked of Pirelli.

Looking more like 2 Red Bulls vs 1 Mercedes this year. Lots of twists & turns to come throughout the season.

Crazy race.

Congratulations to Sergio. Well done. Let’s hope he has enough fuel in that car. Seb gets my vote for DOTD.

Good to see Lance and Max are ok. Rare mistake from Lewis. Heated those brakes way to much on the out lap. The battle continues.

Glad Max and Lance are ok. Serious work ahead for Pirelli. Much higher rear loads coming up than Baku. This new tire is not ready yet.

Ah, ok. That may have been a greater influence on unbalanced brake load going into Turn 1. I thought it was from excessive heat. Prolly a combination. I’m sure being on Hards didn’t help.
Yeah Hamilton appeared to accidentally turn a setting on that caused excessive heat to his front brakes. Reminds me of when he did something similar in Brazil 2007. Even the best can make mistakes.

A switch that turns off your brakes? Sounds dangerous to me! I have enough trouble getting my music volume and cruise control right on my steering wheel!

RBR did everything right. Good they got the win. With Bottas having a nightmare I see RBR winning the constructors title this year. But the drivers is a two horse race.

As for Pirelli they need to be a lot more cautious with tyre compounds. Very dangerous failures today. We could be looking at a fatality today.

Yup, too right

speculation on why tyres failed:

I expect it was more something that applies the brakes lightly during the Warm Up Lap to heat the rotors so they are at the correct (hot) temperature when they brake for the first corner at the Start (Re-Start). He probably did it too early so the brakes were literally smoking when he took his grid position and then they just roasted with no cooling while waiting for the lights so when he went to apply them they were not working effectively and he sailed off into the runoff area.

The SKY broadcasters mentioned that after the first Safety Car when Stroll's tire failed that Pirelli examined the Hards that came off those that pitted and said they looked good, which led to speculation it might have been a cut tire.

And to be honest, it might have been a cut tire with Max, as well. SKY also mentioned that the track was windy and a fair bit of debris was being blown onto the track.

Anybody else notice Mazepin’s rather stupid swerve in front of his teammate Schumacher as he was being overtaken before the finish line? Seriously out of his depth in formula 1 that lad.

It is clear he is only there to fund the team, though what they are doing with that money to suck so hard...it is clear Ferrari have at least "fixed" their engine for 2021 and I believe Haas still gets as much of their parts as they are allowed under the regulations from Ferrari. Then again, Alfa is not exactly kicking arse, either...

I was actually surprised how few SC there were after Saturday. Neither were down to driver error. There wasn’t even that many yellows. Still I enjoyed the race. It had plenty to keep me entertained.

So much hate for Lewis and joy when things goes wrong for him. I take satisfaction in knowing it must really eat them up inside having to watch so much dominance over the last few years.

That’s nothing new in fairness. Competition beating packages are only impressing the fans of that very coupling and leave many bored seeing repetitive results.
