I think the FIA decided not to interfere with the result which I like, but they certainly wouldn’t let any other driver get away with this. They admitted afterwards to making the decision without viewing either drivers onboard footage too!! Maybe if they’d done this they would not have been able to ignore it. Still, Lewis win the race and has he not, I think Mercedes would have been right to challenge that decision. Lewis avoided the contact well here I thought.
I still think Max will win it this season. The points advantage is too much and something would have to go seriously wrong. Then again he seems to take risks so you just never know. There’s also a new track and any driver could make an error. At least it’s an exciting end to the season and we are seeing some good racing.
They don't need to see the footage, they have access to ALL the cars sensors and can see steering input and if the cars sliding and throttle etc at the time of the incident. Cheeky move by Max but don't count in it being deliberate just cause we can't see the video of his steering wheel.
