RIP Sir Frank!

An absolute F1 legend who overcame the giants of the sport on many occasions.

Yeah saw that, sad, as said he was a legend in the sport, did an awful lot for it and created a brilliant engineering company, not just an F1 team.

RIP Frank.

Who’s going to win this weekend then?… glad to see a normal race again. Lewis seems intent on getting himself arrested though criticising the law of Suadi Arabia? Wish he kept politics out of the sport.

Interesting track - Monza's speed with Spa's distance.

Looks like few places to pass, though, and any incident is going to bring out the Safety Car (virtual or actual).

Mighty final lap by Max, but he throws it away with a big shunt in the final corners.

And if stats stay true, he also just threw away the WDC because Lewis now takes pole at both new tracks in 2021 and since 2010, whomever took pole at a new track won the WDC.

And if that shunt results in grid penalties for component replacements, it's going to be very difficult for Max to climb up.

It's a new track so no one knows how the racing will be that's pure here say assumption on your part, Red Bull have never been beating Mercedes like they are this year and in the lead at this point of the season. If they are brave enough they'll be able to overtake. But it's rife for never ending accidents and safety cars and Max is right on Lewis's pace. Plus he starts from third gearbox allowing.

Will be interesting to see what happens, to me it looks like a crap track though, pointless if they can't actually overtake and it's yet another train race.... I do wish the FIA would stop adding cities for the sake of it to the calendar when they have no proper tracks to offer. Next year they'll be adding more.

Exciting qualifying and Max obviously would be on pole except for pushing a bit too much and going into the wall.

I DO NOT like this track - too narrow, insufficient runoff and too many walls. How in the heck is overtaking supposed to be possible on such a track? The front runners will have a HUGE advantage, particularly Hamilton with pole position and Max possibly many places behind with the pressure to gain ground during the race in order to maintain his championship lead.

I had read reports from practice sessions where some of the drivers stated that they really enjoyed the track, but after watching qualifying I am very concerned. I agree with @Pezimak that the race will be 'rife for never ending accidents and safety cars'.

The condition of the track surface itself looked superb and no doubt the quality of the circuit and facilities is excellent. I hope that the race is free of serious incidents given the risks of racing at such high speeds on a track of this sort.

Very exciting qualifying, Max could’ve gotten it surely. He was really pushing, I’d rather see him fail while pushing than fail by not trying hard enough! All or nothing mentality. Race tomorrow is a bit unpredictable. But the championship is not far off for Lewis.

The final session was certainly tense! I'm hoping for a Lewis win + Fastest Lap and Max to finish 2nd so they both go into the final race on the same points and need the win. Not sure how things are scored where the points are equal, as I suspect they go back to the number of wins, or poles or something equally unsatisfactory.

I'm not.

But the die is cast now with that wreck on the last Q lap for VER.

Lewie wins going away.

Perhaps. But Max is currently the leader, there are still other variables that are outside the control of either Max or Lewis - mechanical failures, accidents not caused by either but which affect one or both. But if both drivers and cars go on without either of those types of incidents, then I'm inclined to agree with you that the advantage is shifting to Lewis.

I understand the reasoning. Hopefully the sport can bring about the changes.

Not in that country it won't, you can't go and race in a country and start to force it to change it's historical views and laws. Lewis is lucky they haven't kicked him out or arrested him. God knows why they even went there in the first place...

Money, of course.

Beyond the hosting fee, ARAMCO is the State Oil company and as a Global Partner, is one of the largest sponsors of Formula One.
