Training camps are opening and I'm not sure how popular the NFL is around here. I'm excited for the Trey lance era to finally begin for the 49ers. I'm hoping he doesn't embarrass himself but I don't think he will. The teammates seem to like him, but of course we are in the honeymoon period.

I've been confused by the Deebo Samuel situation all offseason long. Maybe he thinks he should be paid RB/WR money? He is that good of a dual threat.

With Russell Wilson at QB for the Broncos, I’m finally looking forward to a new season like I haven’t since we won Super Bowl 50.

I dfon't get the love affair iwth Trey Lance. Jimmy wasn't spectacular, but he won games and was steady. Lance has started what, two games? And he hardly even played in college. Niners are taking a huge risk.

The AFC West will be brutal. My own Bills haver Super Bowl dreams. But 0-6 in championships, 4 Super Bowl losses and two Stanley Cup finals losses. 3 of the 6 came at the hands of the city of Dallas. So I have a special hatred for the Cowboys.

They are, but they also traded 3 first round picks to get him. They have to play him to get a return on investment. It's way to early to say how he will do.

I’m curious to see what the Ravens can do if they can stay healthy, but losing Hollywood Brown is a big hit.

While I agree that Trey still has to prove himself, however, Jimmy G wasn’t going to win a Super Bowl for the 49ers.

Agreed. The AFC West is easily the best/hardest division in the NFL.

LOL... That is ok, not everyone can like the Big D. I mean there are teams that I absolutely loathe... Such as those teams from Philly, D.C., NY, Pitt (Super bowl loses so I can relate), and that franchise from SF... Something about a stupid "Catch" really gets to me. So I can totally relate to you hating a team for reason "X".

And I agree on the AFC-West... that is going to be one brutal division if it lives up to the hype and no one craps the bed.

Hey, sorry about that playoff loss last year. Tell your 'boys to learn the rules for this season :D

As a Browns fan, I'm looking to watch two things:
  1. The complete and total collapse of the team/organization (again) after the incredibly stupid mortgage of their future for a QB that may not even get to play, and...
  2. Baker Mayfield turn out to be a pretty darn good QB after being tossed to the curb by the Browns after giving them the only winning seasons they've had in decades.

1. Aside from the moral implications of bringing him on (the duide has a serious problem, with no guarantee that it won't continue to be a problem - addicted to sex?), he won't have played footbsall for two years, depending on the suspension. It could take him a while to matter again, if he ever will. A huge risk foir $230 million guaranteed.

2. Not sure about Baker. He's tough, but maturity is a question and he did not play great his last season. It wasn't even the injury, but his decision making.

Here it is, August, and Garoppolo still hasn't been traded!

Maybe something will happen as a result of the rumored trade talks with the Giants.

Not too many places for him to go. Teams are just waiting for him to be released.

Watson suspended for the first 6 games of the season, loses $333,333 in salary.

WEAK. Dude was benched (at full salary) last season, then got a contract designed to avoid a heavy fine by putting all the money on the back end, then gets only 6 games (about $300,000 in lost salary - out of $230 million guaranteed). He needs to be gone at least 10-12 games and Cleveland should lose a first round pick over that bogus contract designed to minimize punishment.

I read that his contract was structured so that most of his salary for this year was given to him in a signing bonus in anticipation of a lengthy suspension.

The league should look into this. Teams are giving huge amounts in signing bonuses in order to get around the salary cap.

It's going to be interesting to see how many games DeShaun Watson will REALLY get suspended for. I wouldn't be surprised that the NFL may request up to nine games, just about over half a season.

I agree with what others are saying, dude should be suspended for the season and lose all of the money for that season.
The way his contract is setup though... that is some shady stuff right there...

I agree about the cap, though every team does that. At least its equal cheating. But the Watson contract was blatantly shady in trying to get around potential NFL discipline.
