Speaking of the Cowboys..........

Jerry Jones gives McCarthy a vote of confidence:

Will this last if the Cowboys lose to the Bucs?

@maflynn
I didn't get the Friends reference, and wondered about the pic you posted. So that has nothing to do with the beverage, I guess.

I had a colleague who always said "mute point". He was very intelligent and highly educated, but I guess that's the way he heard it as a kid. Some things never leave you. No matter how many times he's heard it said correctly, he's stuck.

Anyway, great to hear that Damar Hamlin is alert and able to speak, breathe on his own, etc. Time might change the decision to skip that game. The players and players union might weigh in now that Hamlin seems to be recovering.
Until I found the article about the missaid phrases, I thought it was intensive purposes as in important purposes. I didn't know it was intents and purposes. They may have been one or two more, but I have to find the article again. ROFL grammar checker actually caught it and squiggly lined it to suggest intents and

I have a feeling if the Bucs come out and beat them... I would be very worried if I was Mr. McCarthy. I mean there were a lot of rumors in Cowboy country about Sean Payton.

Jerry Jones gives McCarthy a vote of confidence:
It seems in the past, when an owner gave the coach a vote of confidences that was the kiss of death, where the were gone at season's end. With Jerry who knows, he stuck with Garrett way longer then he should have.

With the NFL, anything can happen in the playoffs. You have one chance to win, and any team at any time can rise beyond anyone's expectations.

I wanted him to go to the Colts!!
There's really no great landing spot imo. I wouldn't be surprised if Irsay sticks with Saturday. The Broncos, look like the best landing spot but that's not ideal. He'll need to bring Wilson back from the dead (so to speak) but the new ownership is motivated. Carolina needs stability and a QB, I'm not sure how that franchise is going to pull itself together. The Texans are the Cleveland Browns of the south :p So I'd avoid them personally.

edit: I forgot about Ariz. The Cardinals look interesting but I don't know if the ownership is willing to pay top dollar for him, but i can see him excelling in Arizona

Edit #2: There's a dark horse team, that has a coach right now. LA Rams. I think McVay is going to walk away. But I think that owner would then do a full court press on getting Payton

Harbaugh likes to run the ball and control the game. That's what Wilson needs right now. He no longer can win a shootout against the likes of Mahomes or Herbert.

Ram's would be ideal for Payton in that he would get a similar QB to Brees.

Report: Lamar Jackson not looking good for Sunday

Not good for the ravens. They need a healthy Jackson.

Also Lamar Jackson acts as his own agent (crazy I know), and one issue people keep talking about is with mobile Qbs - can you stay healthy. He's in a contract year and for the first time, he's missed games. The Drew Rosenhaus of the world would be able to overcome such an issue, but with Larmar and his mother doing the negotiating he's already behind the 8 ball.

My prediction is that the Ravens will tag him for next year and kick the can down the road. The longer he plays w/o a long term contract the higher the risk that he'll find himself getting hurt and unable to cash in

I wonder if he wants to leave "Blue" for the them... I feel that would be a huge win for the Broncos if they were able to snag him.

I will believe it when I see it. Russ is an albatross at this point unfortunately. The list of guys in their mid 30's who had a terrible year and bounced back (non-injury related) is short. Actually, is there even anyone on that list? I have just heard speculation from some Michigan people that he is tired of dealing with the NCAA.

people that he is tired of dealing with the NCAA.
Throw in the news that Michigan is being investigated by the NCAA, so now Harbaugh will have to deal with anal probing for the foreseeable future. Most coaches cut bait and run

Me too... as a big "Blue" fan, I don't want to see him go, but I get it. They were finally able to beat that team from Ohio!!! FINALLY!

I read though the the Level 1 "violations" were because he bought 2 recruits a burger that wasn't allowed. Well, more specifically I guess he misled and/or lied about that, but the rule is absurd to begin with.

Like that team that got hit for giving a player cream cheese with his bagel. The NCAA and some of their rules are draconian at best.

Indeed. College athletes make oodles of $$$ for the colleges and NCAA, but if the college gives them a small token of appreciation, the NCAA comes down on 'em like a ton of bricks. Major violations, yeah, hit 'em hard. But 2 burgers?🙄 Come on, man.🤨

College players should get of cut of the $$$ they bring in. Not NFL level payout, but at least enough to let 'em buy a burger or two.😏

Hamlin is out of the hospital.

Wouldn't want to be the Dolphins with him standing on the sideline especially since Tua has been ruled out.
