Looks like Chargers, with the win today, clinched a wild card spot! Wow what a year makes and and a new coach.
Finally #6 seed AFC in the playoffs!!! Harbaugh to be back in the NFL coaching for chargers after leaving the Niners to coach Michigan at the collegiate level is a game changer. It has been since the 2022 season they last played wild card.

I can't answer your question, but my daughter and I were watching this game today and we both said "Who in the hell is Drake Maye?"Not a Patriots fan and had never heard of that QB until today.
I had the same thoughts as a fan of Rams, Chargers, and the Niners. Drake maye is too new for a starting quarterback and he does not have PURDY talent and the stats necessary to play. He is from the 2024 draft class.

OMG..what a game! My daughter is a HUGE Broncos fan so of course we were watching Bengals vs Broncos. I couldn't lose as I like both teams, but I felt bad for her in the end because there is no way Broncos are beating KC next week to make the playoffs. LOVED that game!
As a Broncos fan, that loss broke my heart. (I've been a fan since John Elway was acquired one year after I moved to Colorado. Well, I got hooked the season before.) After the dramatic way they tied the game to force OT, it was a shame that they couldn't move downfield in the "tenth inning".

I agree. My daughter was crushed. (I kid you not, her home is decorated in Blue and Orange). I don't know what happened to them after all that excitement....they just seemed to fizzle out. Bummer.

Too bad we can’t get another Harbaugh Super Bowl. That was a fun game to watch back then.
Bummer for Niners to be out of playoff contention. The red and gold Niners Apple Watch band will be staying in the box until the NFL draft next spring or next NFL season. So does my hats and jerseys.

Chargers I hope we pass the wild card. Last time in 2022 we lost to it.

I grew up in Denver and have remained a Broncos fan even though it's been a long time since I lived there......and yes, it was a tough loss.

Patriots/Bills and Titans/Texans look to be intriguing games in Wk 18. Bills and Texans have nothing to play for--locked as #2 and #4 seed. Patriots and Titans are after the #1 draft spot. Bills/Texans will most likely rest starters, so there is a good chance for an upset. But do the Patriots/Titans coaches/executives want a win?🤔 The players will play hard because of pride, so it will be up the coaches whether they win or lose. Decisions, decisions.🤗

The NFL should do something similar to the NBA, but not as complicated. Take the Bottom 4 and ties and then randomly draw to see who gets the top pick, 2nd pick, etc.

Completely even chances unlike the NBA ping pong ball madness.

I mean do we really thing there is much difference between the 3-win Pats and the 4-win Raiders?

Just for kicks, here are the #1 picks over the past 25 years.

With the thought in mind that QB is the most vital position, teams have drafted 18 of them in that period.

Of those, two (Manning, Stafford) have won the SB. Carr has a ring, but as a backup, and was pretty mediocre, if not rotten, otherwise. His brother Derrick seemingly got most of the QB talent in the family…but had the misfortune of mostly playing for the Raiders.

2000 Courtney Brown DE
2001 Michael Vick QB
2002 David Carr QB
2003 Carson Palmer QB
2004 Eli Manning* QB
2005 Alex Smith QB
2006 Mario Williams DE
2007 JaMarcus Russell QB
2008 Jake Long T
2009 Matthew Stafford QB
2010 Sam Bradford QB
2011 Cam Newton QB
2012 Andrew Luck QB
2013 Eric Fisher T
2014 Jadeveon Clowney DE
2015 Jameis Winston QB
2016 Jared Goff QB
2017 Myles Garrett DE
2018 Baker Mayfield QB
2019 Kyler Murray QB
2020 Joe Burrow QB
2021 Trevor Lawrence QB
2022 Travon Walker DE
2023 Bryce Young QB
2024 Caleb Williams QB

#1 will get you at least a good player, but a game changer, or leader to glory? No guarantees of that.

Then you have Mr. "Purple Drank" Russell, perhaps one of the biggest draft busts of all time. Even Tony Mandarich came back and had something of a career.

Monday night's Lions vs 49ers was quite a fun game to watch. Lots of impressive offense from both teams

If he'd had hit all the FG and xps they'd have won 41-40 !!
And that was the real surprise for me. Wouldn't have changed anything for the Niners, but the fact that they could beat the Lions gives me hope for the playoffs and SB. I'd really, really, really like to see Chiefs vs Vikings. Just imagine... Chiefs are two points ahead, last play of the game is a FG attempt by the Vikings... history, no matter how it'd turn out.

wow

I just looked at the box score.

If he'd had hit all the FG and xps they'd have won 41-40 !!

Instead he was 0/2 of FG tries and he missed one xp.

I won't be surprised if he's looking for a new job.....clearly a disastrous game for the kicker.

And as the announcers continually mentioned, the Lions defense clearly has a significant problem with the number of injured starters.

Lions vs Bills. Both could get their first SB win or one could end up 0-5 in SB's.
Yuck, if the Bills win a SB I might just stop watching the NFL altogether.

Lions would be nice though, those fans have been suffering through pain for a long long time.

Browns loss gives them the pole position in the draft. Titans can take over if the lose, which looks like what they're trying to do. They're calling a bunch of dink and dunk passes, sprinkled with some running plays.😑
Browns would likely draft a QB, something the Titans want too. So does the 3 win Giants. QB could go 1, 2 and 3 in the 2025 draft.
The 3 win Patriots have their QB, so they can still get their guy 4th overall. And for less money.😉 Winning against the Bills backups makes sense.
Giants and Titans want to lose.🙃
