Man, an entire thread about how bad the Browns are 😭
That's why they're sometimes referred to as the Breveland Clowns.😏
Well, I for one am happy to see some decent QB options this year that at least make things exciting. We have been held hostage by a QB for years, and now at least we have some fun options. Our draft seems great to me on paper. Just a little weird on how the selections went down.
The Browns are jinxed when it comes to QB's. They wasted 7 1st round picks on QB (Tim Couch, Brady Quinn, Brandon Weeden, Johnny Football and trade 3 1st round picks for Watson) and none of them worked out. Watson was elite until he joined the Browns. Baker Mayfield was good for 2 years before the Browns broke him [IMO]. Now he's a quality starter now that's he far from that franchise.

Two off topic things:
This thread keeps showing new posts for me even though I've clicked on on it numerous times.
I'm stuck in "dark mode". How do I turn that off?

@pachyderm and @eltoslightfoot

Are both of you on Macs? if so, do you have the following settings:

Appearance set to "Auto" or is it on "Dark"?

Also on Macrumors check the Preferences under "Your Account" to make sure your timezones are the same as what is on your Mac and what is set in Macrumors.
I am mostly on my iPad and Mac both. Appearance is set to “Macrumors Dark” and timezone is the same as my Mac and iPad.

"Style" ... click that ...

The same thing happened at the "fighting cock" Spurs forum... soccer ;)

Two short of the 24 needed (22-10).

The 10 teams to vote against the proposal, sources told Schefter, were: The Eagles, Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, Detroit Lions, Jacksonville Jaguars, Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, New York Jets and Tennessee Titans.

To me, it's a gimmicky play, so I would have voted to ban it.

There are lots of plays I would call "gimmicky" or "trick" plays. If that's your only criterion, you'd have to ban many other plays as well. The objection I heard is that the "tush push" subjects players to injury. But, it's a contact sport, so all plays do that. I think the real objection is that some teams do it better than others, in other words, the motivation for banning it was jealousy.

My thoughts on the Rodger's/Steeler's drama.

The steelers have lost most of their self respect. I liked what Terry Bradshaw had to say about this situation. Its a joke and you can't have a playoff bound team without knowing who your QB is and not having your QB in the working with the team.

I think Tomlin has over stayed his welcome, he should have left a few years ago, this is basically more of the same mediocrity from them. The old old tough and proud steelers of Bradshaws time or the intensity of Bill Cowher's team are long gone.

Whelp, looks like Rodgers told the steelers he's ready to sign a contract. I'm not sure if it will be a 1 or 2 year contract.

Tell me you make too much money without telling me you make too much money
By skipping offseason workouts, Lamar Jackson forfeits another $750,000

Jackson’s 2023 contract includes separate $750,000 workout bonuses in 2024, 2025, 2026, and 2027. To get the money, he has to show up for at least 80 percent of the workouts.

Last year, Jackson didn’t participate in the requisite sessions. This year, he hasn’t done it, either.

Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly, but this seems to me that Jackson is thinking he's so good he doesn't need the offseason workouts, which seems like a crummy team attitude to me.
Whether you think you need it or not, its silly imo, pass up 750,000 dollars like he did. The funny thing is, he and his mom are the ones who negotiated the contract (they don't have an agent). Which makes this even more ludicrous since its something that he approved to be added into the contract.

I don't have a stake in this, I'm not even a raven's fan, just an interested observer. If the raven's start off slow, this may come back as a talking point (or it may not).

I'm not a Raven's fan either, so I don't care what LaMar does, but he's the freakin' qb for crying out loud, seems to me it might be helpful to have him at practice. And, yeah, then there's the money...just say that it makes me kind of ill as I can't even imagine being able to say "Nah, I'll pass...you keep the $750,000. Don't even get me started on what these guys make to begin with.

The whole thing just rubs me the wrong way.

Agreed. A team leader should lead by example.
