I think about this a lot. Were we better off when everyone just played their bowl game and bowl games mattered? The National Championship was nice, but not the point of college football.
Its just too drawn out for me. Once we hit January first, I'm largely done with football, this includes the NFL and college. I'm over saturated. While there's no other sport for me to hang my hat on until baseball, I'm pretty much done with football.

I largely ignore the playoffs and championship for college, especially given how late in January the game is. 9 times out of 10, the bowl games produced a better product then the playoffs - this year may prove different but like I said I'm largely moving on

this NFLs-NCAA season took it's tool
I love European cycling as I can watch a two hour race from 1974 on UTube to last years Paris Roubiax in full.
im trying to get into the NHL again, but that is tiresome to- as my Oilers can't really play now as they did in the 1980s
baseball is a pure fun sport, but only several announcers can carry a full game enticingly nowadays.

I just hope I can finish watching the Thursday game again Ole Miss as i'm losing interest by the hour.

So that is what it is like being a Patriots fan. You get bored with the playoffs. 😉

I generally agree. They need to start by doing away with the conference championship games and start the playoff earlier.

So you're saying that with a long novel, or TV series, you'd skip the last chapter? I think most people do it the other way 'round.

For the devoted, the NFL is almost year round, and CFB isn't that far behind, with its share of offseason activity.

Perhaps you should check out IndyCar, where they have six-months between seasons. 😉

Nope

I consider myself a devoted fan, but that doesn't mean that over-saturation and over-hyping doesn't occur to the point that fatigue sets in. I understand this is atypical, but I'm saying its me personally.

Good suggestion, I used to like watching nascar car racing when I was younger but ever since they made changes to the car, and forcing stupid rules, there's no excitement in the race. I watch the Indianapolis 500 and that's actually full of excitement and is engaging.

what a game! I think?
too many bad and great plays by both teams proves this playoff system is bad.
these kids should be in a portal now, not the gridiron.
too many games!

anyways UMiami has home field advantage which means really nothing.

I'm surprised at how close it was, I really thought The "U" was a better team. I didn't really see too much of the game, as I had to get up at 2:00am to drive my daughter work.
I am usually up by 2:30 or so just about every day...

I simply decided not to watch the game and read instead, lol.

I wake up around that time, to make sure my daughter is up and prepping to go to work. On various occasions I drive her, and I don't get back home until 4:00. Its that weird time where its too late to go back to bed, and too early to do anything. I turned in early because, I was looking at only 4 to 5 hours of sleep.

I find that I'll start fading around 6:00pm on the days I drive her

Do you turn in early, if you're up at 2:30am?

Oof - you guys are making me tired just reading that. And I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself because my 8mo likes to get me up at 5am. 😉

What time do you go to bed?

So, I used to go to bed around 9:00 - 9:30 and sleep until around 4:00.

Then our dog, she's almost 12 years old now, got a bladder and tummy infection.

Any time she'd get up I'd get up to make sure she got out the door on time.

Now it is her(ours) sleep pattern: Up at 2:30 & outside. Sometimes she will get up at 12:00ish and I don't gamble. I take her out. lol.

But my bedtime is usually 9:00ish still.

I run into @maflynn on here in the morning quite a bit. We both try to get up and run in the mornings as well.

our bodies have not adjusted to DST or the Nov clock change, me thinks.

jeez, I fall asleep sometimes at 8:30 when trying to watch a movie, TV show
the only thing that keeps me awake is cycling races somehow.
then I either wake up at 9PM to 11PM rested.
last night I stayed alert and focused during the entire game unlike the refs on both ends.
then fell asleep around 1AM I think?

I am sleep deprived since November and need to find a remedy this weekend.
perhaps bedtime calamine tea, pedaling 10 more miles faster or more mental or physical labor,
I might watch the game tonight which should be better since the teams are better?
but I need a nice 6 hour sleep tonight for a bike ride sat morning.

this NCAA playoff system is sure bad on everyone, but the accountants.

Well today's the day for my Ducks. I'm expecting we are going to get our a$$es handed to us, BUT...anything is possible. I'm trying to be realistic and if it happens that we win, it will be a pleasant surprise. (Shock) I'm not being a fair-weather fan, I'll be in front of the tv rooting for my team probably with some Yay's and Nay's.

At any rate...gotta say it: GO DUCKS!!!! 😀

Well, on the bright side it's really hard to beat someone twice...

GO DUCKS!

Duck Duck GOoooose!
hopefully they won't lay an egg.

Indy looks great but as ye stated "anything is possible" so who knows?
Ol. Miss could have won yesterday as not too many top seeds are here.

should be a game last night as that was fun, kinda-

OH, and if the ducks win, free "Dinty Moore™" (their QB) on the campus' cafe next week!
