I ran it through ChatGPT, and whilst it took some time for it to compute, it suggests it can be done, hypothetically.
And boy did ChatGPT struggle, it even showed windows with code and math being done, in real time:
They could tie but there would be tie breakers to decide the winner.

The winner should be the one that pissed off the muppets with the rule book the most.. More naughty visits to the headmaster, winner winner chicken dinner.. If you can get points, anyone with most naughty points should win, more is more..yes??

Perhaps they could write it into the rules where if they are tied going into the final race, and for example Piastri has dominated the race with like a 14 second lead with 4 laps to go, they can artificially slow the field, allow the pack to bunch up, release some of the back markers (not all), get Norris to pit for fresh tyres and just have a one-lap shootout where its obvious Piastri will be a sitting duck and Norris will be champion. We could then say Piastri deserved to win the race, but Norris deserved the championship. Knowing Norris though, he'd crash in Piastri anyway ;)🎣

Actually no. See below

And you think that would be outrageous to determine it that way, oh wait, let's check out the F1 Sporting Regulations.

"It thinks fit"... dangerous, it could award WDC to some bloke that finished last in class... Not to anyone in pawpaw..

I've just trawled through all the regulations pertaining to F1, that are relevant, and nothing published, for the public to see, has any clarification on what 'it thinks fit' means. It's highly improbable that a scenario could exist like that, but with a strong car, and two good drivers sharing win's, it would not be unrealistic to see the total wins, and 2nds be equal, amongst two cars, and with no other placings, or DNF's, the current solution, isn't transparent.

Most likely 1-this will never happen, 2-most visits to the headmaster's office will determine whiner or winner...
I suspect "it thinks fit" would be count of who had more poles.. then 2nds, 3rds..

That's already included in the regulations, minus the poles, and sprint results, but I agree, likely never to happen. We are in a season, where the 2 McLaren drivers, are pretty neck and neck, with very few finishes, outside of the top 2. Both Lando and Pastri have finished twice outside the top 3.

You listed the "tie breakers".

Also, good morning!
Good morning, although for me, it's almost good night. As you saw earlier, with the closeness of the completion, I ran a ChatGPT scenario, to see how likely it was, to see Lando and Pastri ( my spell check keeps changing the names to Nando and Pastry) tying, for the WDC. And it's quite possible, for them to do so, right the way done, through the 'tie breaker' list. It was then I had a look at the regulations, and saw that, if truly is a tie, the the FIA chooses a winner as 'it thinks fit'. Which is incredulous.
They already did that with Hamilton.

Now you are being silly. They would never do that…….

Thomas Maher is reporting that Sergio Perez’s announcement as a Cadillac driver for 2026 will be announced at the end of the break.

Great news for Sergio. Thomas is a very reliable source…
Looks like the good folk of this thread, have taken a well earned mid season break too.😉 Or perhaps there reading the tech regulations for next year...

Things will pick up when Max finishes P1 at Zandvoort after running Lando off in Turn 1 while people are still buzzing over George’s 1+1 and the amount of money Sergio is bringing to Cadillac……. 😉 (Humor)
