...I think with the rise of the internet, and Youtube, they no longer had the corner on sports news, so they pivoted to some sort of weird entertainment where the "talent" is super annoying

You're right about that. There's no question that there's quite a difference in style.

News is blowing up regarding Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini (sports writer) being photographed together in situations that people married (to others) shouldn't necessarily be in, i.e., hugging, in a hot tub alone, etc.

Its a distraction that Kraft is probably unhappy about, at the very least Kraft should have recommended a good masseuse 😛

In all seriousness, I feel bad for the spouses - been there, its not a pleasant experience.

So ESPN has gotten worse over time, to no ones surprise.

I think its just the nauseating amounts of hype and the controversy they manufacture in order to drive engagement. One of the earliest turnoffs for me was Stuart Scott (and other douchebags) bemoaning the Texans #1 pick, when they didn't pick Reggie Bush or Vince Young and went with Mario Williams.

The circumstances suggests a little more than a professional gathering. I think I would rather get caught with a masseuse than in a remote couples bungalow sharing a hot tub with not my wife.

I'm sure.
the last offsite meeting I had, I was interlocking my hands with my coworker and it was totally professional 😛
It was when I had an off-site meeting with a co-worker. We would play mercy to determine pecking order. Okay, maybe not professional or mature.😳 Boys will be boys, eh? 😉
I can't believe Vrabel isn't dominating against a smaller, weaker opponent. She must have incredible grip strength to hold her own against a former NFL linebacker.

Zay Flowers: John Harbaugh made Ravens practice too hard, Jesse Minter won’t
“Full pads all the time,” Flowers said. “However many practices in pads you can get, every single one. We’re doing one-on-ones in Week 17. Week 17, we’re doing one-on-ones, everybody out there, we’re tired, we’re still going.”

Not sure how I feel about this, You cannot deny the approach Harbaugh had, was fruitful with the ravens largely being successful during the season.

As someone who takes karate, one mindset is you practice how you want to fight. If you pull your punches during practice, you'll likely pull them for realsies.

Did I misunderstand you? I thought you were saying that it was a professional setting, not anything underhanded.

If I did, my apologies.
No worries -- you just caught me by surprise. Perhaps I was unclear but I meant to say that the initial photos did not look like a "professional setting" at all. It was a private bungalow in the middle of nowhere after all. The ones today -- kissing in a bar -- even worse. A shameful embarrassment for both Vrabel and Russini. Patriots too.

#FreeVrabel

What a crock of horse manure. His private life is nobody else's business and I hope Vrabel and the Patriots kick this "should resign" trash out of the park. So sick and tired of hypocritical peanut gallery being so pathetic all the time.

Let's be realistic. The moral and ethical bar is low for the NFL, and other mega sports-entertainment businesses. And many others in general.

Short of murder, if you can play, some team will overlook any transgressions and you'll play. Infidelity is a minor misdemeanor on the mythical scale.

The course of events in this sordid affair has been good for a chuckle, and an object lesson in how not to handle crisis management.

And all too familiar for an organization that has seen the gamut of such incidents. If the NCAA was involved, they could slap it with the "Loss of institutional control" charge.

in other NFL news........today was the first round of the draft

The best laid plans of mice and men.

I get the moral implications but I just don't care about this.
Its less about the moral side of things, and more about someone who holds his team to a high standard.

As the head coach, and former player he was emphasizing discipline, accountability, and character. When someone in that role is accused of adultery, it clashes with the image people expect.Vrabel harp. In many respects, its hard for him to hold his players accountable, when he chooses to make life choices that go completely against the message he had drilled into his players.

Poor girl got fired
The issue with her, is that her credibility and integrity were wiped out. I think its not right that she is the only one facing the consequences of their actions, but that doesn't mean her having consequences is unfair.

I'm of the opinion if it was anyone other then a NFL head coach, nothing would have occured, but she relies on relationships with teams, coaches, general managers. Do they trust her now, that its been shown that she had a personal relationship with another coach? Will they be willing to talk to her, as they may believe anything they say (or show her) will end up in New England?

Her characther is now in question, and for journalists you need to have integrity and character - the Atheletic presumably gave her an offer she could not refuse - allowing her to quit and not get fired which would have caused more drama.

That should be enough for the morality police.
It isn't about morality, not in this world, where anythings, but rather the hypocrasy of two people who have a public voice, now all of sudden caught up in actions that they would have demanded other people's head for.

Looks like the Steelers swung and missed.
They were on the phone with Makai Lemon, telling him they'll be drafting him - the eagles tried calling and the phone was busy, so they traded up to the 20th spot and snagged him.

The Steelers need a lot of help on the offensive side of things. While Rodgers is trying to pull his typical game of will he/won't he. I think most media outlets have largely ignored that and moved on. I expect him to play for 2026, and I think the steelere are assuming that as well. He just wants to be the center of attention, but I think he went to that well one too many times and he's not really getting the attention like before.

the situation is as you said........If he were still playing at a high level, he'd be getting more attention I suspect

Thoughts on Why Diego Pavia Went Undrafted?

He accepted an invitation to attend the Raven's minicamp, so there's a glimmer of hope, but if he failed to be drafted at all, it may be an uphill battle for this 24 year old.

I've heard it's simply because he is a punk.

And he is one. I'm a Vandy fan and I'm saying that. Drafting him brings in his mother who is also a bit of a punk and a sk*nk.
