I've seen some references to the possibility of pulmonary embolism as the root cause. Apparently Busch was using the Chevrolet Nascar simulator and was found in it, unresponsive. From there, I'm guessing emergency transport to the hospital and then his death. Damn shame, like him or not he was definitely a talented driver with a huge will to win. He won more races in NASCAR's 3 premier series (Cup, Truck and what used to be Busch) than any driver in history.

OK, so what is the point of the sprint?

Many fans like it because they find it more interesting than watching "testing" (Free Practice). I happen to be one of those fans, and I have watched the sport since the 1970s.

Tracks like it because it draws in more fans so higher ticket sales and gross receipts for the vendors which improves the likelihood of those tracks remaining on the schedule. Now, for tracks like Miami that is a double-edged sword, but for tracks like Montreal and Silverstone, I consider that a win.

I had one of those a couple years back. Did not enjoy it at all. And when I exerted myself, it was a lot worse.

More than 1/2 the field used this as a test session, what is that I see "test" as in FP2?? So although the racing is ok for a bit, if the 60% use it for set up/testing, how is this 1-allowed, 2-a valid race? Really the FIA needs to decide what Sprint Race is, a race or a 2nd test session? Or should we only have top 8 on the grid, then in 20 minutes a 40 min test session for cars 9-22???

I treated myself to a Sky pass today so I could watch the football, so I’m hoping the F1 proves a good return on my £14 (as my football team got relegated).

Still at least it’s at a respectable time with the live feed. Highlights wouldn’t start until the small hours.

Good to see Mercedes letting their drivers race again until George’s car decided it had enough.

Great result for Lewis in P2. He obviously enjoys Canada. Fun watching him and Max racing. Notice how they don’t seem to care as much in the cool down room when neither will be winning the title?

McLaren had a day to forget. Terrible strategy to start them both on inters. Why not split the strategy at least? It would have made sense if they had qualified at the back of the grid, but from the second row?

Sadly it’s Monaco next. I doubt any changes they could make, could make it a decent race.

I predict the pole winner wins the race!

WOW! What a race, reliability issues surfacing again, shame as George and Antanelli were really going for it! McLaren did something I couldn't quite believe with that start tyre????!!!?!?!?!?!?! WTF?

But hey my team are back in it! Yes Red Bull, come on! And Max actually has a teammate who can keep up with him now. That's a bonus. (Ignoring his penalty).

Was nice to see Lewis and Max with their arms around each other as they went up to Cool Down after the trackside interviews. Was calming.

Makes one wonder just how much Toto was pushing those "Red Buttons" in front of of him that say "George" and list power settings?

If it were warmer I think Max could have held off Lewis. He couldn't light the mediums. He'd pull Lewis on the straights but Lewis would gain it back especially in turn 6. Credit to Lewis for managing his energy to get by when Max got caught in regen. I wasn't surprised by McLaren. Just being McLaren. Stella is flustered waiting for GP to take his job.

I asked you to bring beef burgers, and you brought chicken feet.. What moron thought green tyres was the correct tyre, when the drivers said nope.. Then George has the mother and father of all British strops, a real noob tantrum, worse than if found his sister wearing his favorite batman underpants..

Mind you across at Indy, that was a race, very confusing, the wrong guys at the end won, alternate strategy, red flags, yeah, some hoped for a Indy255... Shame, what does PawPaws have to do, so close.. It all came down to 2.5 miles.. 1 lap..

Was able to watch Indy, then "watch from start" on the stream...Only buffered 16 minutes.. In the end a great Sunday of F1/Indy.. But really it should be Monaco--->Indy, not Montreal/Indy with no gap... Bad FIA, bad.. No fake champers for you.. idiots..

Yeah, the tyres, not sure, but questions... A lot of questions, and will I believe the reasons, nope, as there cannot be a valid logical reason... Other than just panic.. 1000+ PHD's and not one had the courage to ask.. Maybe there should be a go/no go call from everyone, excluding the PHD's on the pitwall, they have no vote..

I haven’t managed to watch the highlights yet as they were on so late but been catching up with the action through articles. Wow, George is getting so much hate and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve seen people say ‘karma for the Sprint race’. I don’t watch sprint races and truly hate the concept of them, but had to watch clips of this apparent controversy. George seemed to hold his line and Kimi was over zealous and ran himself over the corner, completely fair racing in my opinion. George was the better driver all weekend and I have no doubt he’d have won the race from everything I’ve seen.

We have 2 drivers free to race and clearly evenly matched, yet fans want to be toxic about it. I hate this era of F1 and really wish we could rewind 15 years and not have articles and forums full of low quality discussion. Not this one of course.

Senna v Prost, Hill v Schumacher, back in the day, had we had social media, I am pretty sure it would be a lot more vile than now, we don't have the same sort of driver now, as we had 20/40/50 yrs ago.. All the drivers now are wet blankets, no real legends, nothing like Martin Trundle's co commentator back in the day, James Hunt...

The racing now is about as mild as a rice cake with an extra drop of vanilla essence.. You know it is spicy, but...

I doubt any of the drivers in F99 to F1 in 2026 would try the games the old guys did.. Martin's story about having a strop, about a wheel, brilliant, the wheel went south, he was fed up, told the marshals to fetch his steering wheel.. It was funny when told on tv...

Micheal storming into the garage prepared to beat up I think it was Coulthard after the crash at the bus stop, that would have done well on socials.. I would pay per view that fight... In many ways not having social media was a blessing. We got it out of our system swearing at the lighties at school..

It’s easy to make hateful comments when individuals are hiding behind anonymity. The low quality of moderation out there on other sites contributes as well.
