I think it is so fascinating, F1 more now than at any time in the past needs a strong anti-hero, a strong villain.. Someone that rattles the cage, upsets the locals, does things we don't like... Micheal Schumacher, Eddie Jordan, Sir Mr J Stewart Esq, Mr Senna, folks that push and push hard against the establishment...
George haters is great, I think it is a healthy display of acceptance of his contribution to F1.. Hate is love, you cannot hate something you don't secretly love.. I don't hate or love horse burgers, as I have no idea what it is like.. So how can I hate something I have no idea about...[I hate mushy peas.. I know a lot about mushy peas and baked beans..I love other things, hate mushy peas...]
That is the funny strange thing, maybe that is the X in the X factor, you don't know what, but you know it's result.. Take Micheal Schumacher, he pushed and pushed hard, and yeah, I hated him, I hated his tactics.. But then I realized, once he was no longer there, I missed him, I missed his talent, I was a Villineuve/Hill fan, and felt what Schumacher did was wrong, I was immature, naive, not ready to understand the greater...
What an honour it is for someone to give up their time, their passion to dedicate energy on your behalf, not sure of the science, but I am certain there is no negative energy, so if you use energy on something, it is positive, so if you "hate" you are expending energy for that person, that is actually love..
We need the drama llama in F1, we need scandal, we need the mavericks, the brave folks willing to push against the established, my moment of clarity came that one rainy race day, Micheal Schumacher won the race by pitting on the last lap, no one thought it was right/legal/ethical [insert your own words]...
Chaos and pandemonium, "Was he right?" Regardless, it was then I realized he was doing the right thing, not lying down like a doppy golden mutt, he had every right to test the laws as hard as he could, this is F1, not a fight for a Ms Princess of the Sea pageant for 6 yr old girls...
We have seen this from era to era, Senna complained about it very vocally, so did Nikki Lauda, James Hunt, J Stewart, all felt the harsh establishment rules.. And did something about it..
So ironically hate is just misunderstood love.. You hate, nah you are just embarrassed to admit you actually love..[with all rules, there are exceptions, my hate for mushy peas...there is no love...none..no idea why, I love peas, esp the minty jelly with peas..and peas in stews, but mushy peas...would rather starve...]
