Never thought of the AC but I was thinking through the whole mall fiasco that an agent should sneak in and pull the fire alarm to evacuate the building... or even trigger it from CTU...

exactly what i was thinking… The fire alarm, everyone gets out of there in time.

Normally wouldn't CTU have 4 tactical guys on the perimeter to make sure no terrorists escape through a side door. If they did, they would have noticed the speeding pick up truck leave right after the guy commited suicide.

You forget that they'll be able to hack into the security cameras at every business in the area and run software that checks for any vehicle moving in the area within several minutes of the suicide.

Former spook? Can you disclose which agencies you worked for?

no, not really

admin. asst for intelligence community contractor

computer operator for dod

hardly spook/cop stuff ;)

Man they keep pulling all the same old plot devices this season. So far we've got:

1. Jack Bauer going rogue every hour.
2. Head of CTU under external pressure that cause him/her to start cracking up (Jack with wife and daughter kidnapped, George Mason with radiation poisoning, Tony with Michelle kidnapped, Erin Driscoll with her crazy daughter)....
3. The obligatory mole in CTU...

1) jack goes rogue because us govt agencies are slow in getting things done and we do have a 24 hour time frame

2) the head of ctu is usually a by the numbers person and incompetent and that mirrors what most have always know about the government officials of this or that agency

3) now having a mole in ctu more than once is not only highly unlikely, but it is getting old :)

I missed it!!!

Anyone know where I could.. er... catch up on the episode I missed last Monday?

do you have a fox channel affiliate that plays the show later in the week?

we have fox and 20th century fox channel and one plays 24 on the scheduled monday night time and the other, depending on the season, plays the same episode anywhere from the next day to the day before the next episode, this season on mondays

get a tv guide and you may get lucky

if you can't catch the show, pm me and i can give you the details to the best of my memory...i think monday night's show was pretty good

without giving away too much, i think the subplot of president and mrs. logan has become more interesting and finally lived up to "24" subplot status (like president and mrs palmer, or president palmer and his scheming brother, or kim bauer getting kidnapped in the first season)

i think this was one of the better episodes in this year's series...of course, the first hour was very good as usually is the case

Awesome episode! One problem. My TIVO stopped recording before it was over. Not sure if it ran overtime by a minute or two or not, but the last thing I saw was the First Lady getting in the limo with the Russian President and his wife. Then she said something like, "I hope you don't mind if I ride with you to the airport", and then... "Boing. Do you want to delete this episode?"

Someone, please fill me in on the details of what happened in that last minute or two. I'm assuming she really left with them and President Logan is now crapping his pants. Geez, talk about a cliff-hanger.

She gets in the limo. She exchanges pleasantries with the Russia president and first lady. Aaron rides shotgun. The end.

Heating up a bit, but I'm failing to see where they can go next..

they can blow up the presidential motorcade and either kill or severly injure the russian president, his wife, first lady mrs. logan, and aaron the trusted secret service agent

Thanks. So I didnt really miss too much then. Pretty much what I figured happened.

At least this way, if the First Lady is involved in the attack on the motorcade, the President/US can plausably deny that they knew anything about it. Or, the way the show has been progressing this year, we can just assume Aaron and te first lady are toast along with the Russians. Then the wussy president has a breakdown and blames everyone but himself.

Love this show.

Or Logan can stand up to the terrorists and have the motorcade change course. Though I don't quite see him doing this...

I liked this ep much much better than the last couple. I mean, they were just too ridiculous; I understand we have to suspend belief in some things, but it was pushing it way too much.

I laughed when Jack knocked Curtis out, how Curtis took longer than most people.

If anyone is still looking for a synopsis of this ep (or any others) there's always Television Without Pity - they're kind of snarky about some things, but they do go into detail about each episode. (Right now the full recap of Monday's show isn't up, but it should be soon.)

I'm happy there is a new 'bad-der' bad guy. Interested to see how the DoD angle plays out too.

I like this season thus far, but just thinking back to the first two seasons and how good they were I can't help but be a little disappointed.

go curtis ... I'm not sure i wouldn't mind a little more curtis development and a possible more leading role for the rest of the season.

What the hell happened to the music!?!? It sounds out of place. Did they change composers mid-season?

I like the music... I noticed last week at the end of the ep the music was much darker and different than normal 24 music. Kinda ties in well with crazy Lynn running CTU, crazy Prez running the country...

Thought the interactions between the President and Mike were great today... Mike is realizing exactly how slimy/spineless he actually is. He even asked Mike to pray for his wife, when he could actually do something to stop it. I know he was in a "tough place" but they have CTU at their disposal.. they could've sent a fake motorcade and had CTU running surveillance the whole time.

But, eh, that's just my idea.

Well, the terrorist guy watched the Russians get into their motorcade thanks to our always-covering-everything news stations (yeah right, they would have cut away for ads), and somehow they watched the cars from over head using their Terror Eye in the Sky Cam. So any attempt to send in a fake motorcade would likely have been detected. Unless they pulled the old "switch under the overpass" trick.

I thought that Aaron Pierce (Pearce?) was going to snuff it. *phew* That guy is a champ.

Same here, I was relieved to see he didn't die.

I find the writing a little bland this year. They refer to the terrorists as terrorists far too often. Instead of saying "They have the nerve gas" after already establishing they are talking about terrorists, its "the terrorists have the nerve gas, the terrorists this and the terrorist that" It's the same deal with CTU. It just feels bland to me.

That said, next week's two hour episode looks interesting. Kim's back, that could be good.

I'm finding a lot of this year unbelievable and it goes back to the writing. Everything just seems to be way over the top. I guess I was just hoping for a low-key gritty season like the first.

Wow, today was the first time I've seen this show (I checked it out because you all sounded so excited about it!)

Absolutely amazing - it's so much better than the thrillers that I pay 8 bucks to go see at the movies! Now if only iTunes could start selling these things...I'd be so excited!

Does it seem that Rudy might be in on it since he had no intentions to even look into the attack.
It looks like we will see Tony again next week.

Aha, I did forget about that. I still think that they should've alerted CTU, though. Pffft.

And I love Pierce, he's awesome.
