I find the writing a little bland this year. They refer to the terrorists as terrorists far too often. Instead of saying "They have the nerve gas" after already establishing they are talking about terrorists, its "the terrorists have the nerve gas, the terrorists this and the terrorist that" It's the same deal with CTU. It just feels bland to me.

That said, next week's two hour episode looks interesting. Kim's back, that could be good.

I'm finding a lot of this year unbelievable and it goes back to the writing. Everything just seems to be way over the top. I guess I was just hoping for a low-key gritty season like the first.

I completely agree with everything you just said there.

I also think part of the reason they keep saying terrorists is so that they can get across the story for people who decide to start mid season. So for 24 fans it seems kind of blah, but I bet they decided to do it so that people could just flip through the channels land on 24 and understand whats going.
Imagine doing that with one of the episodes from the first season, you wouldn't have clue what the hell was going on and I prefer it that way.
 
Thank god Lynn is gone. That guy was a control freak.

I was kinda confused this episode becuase i got sick this past week and watched the entire 4th season in like 2 days so i was mixing the 2 stories together.
 
Curtis is my friggin hero, when he put his hand on his gun I was going crazy lol. I can't wait till next week. 2 EPS WOOOOOOOO

Hey - Elisha Cuthbert (Kim Bauer) isn't back yet, is she? I have seen some screencaps of her in S05, but I don't remember seeing her..

From the teaser it looks like Tony will make an appearance too.

he was starting to play so much into the terrorists' favor

in every company, organization, agency, there is someone like lynn who goes by the rules so much he/she loses the purpose of their task and that of the organization's purpose

the civil service, and other government jobs, usually praise and promote people like lynn and it goes a long way to explaining $800 dollar toilet seats ;)

Seriously buy Season 1 on DVD, I've watched all the season's live but I always buy the DVD in the summer to watch it again :)
 
I'v watched all of season 1 3 times now. It is in my mind by far the best season. Also I would think that it would help in understanding the current season. There is always stuff related to previous seasons.

Im not gonna give any spoilers until everyone has a chance to watch but I will say that may be the best episode in the whole series.

Im still in shock over here.

Oh, I meant the tar you had before that. Football's pretty cool, I might even watch a bit of the world cup this year. Go Netherlands!

As for tonight's episode... pretty awesome. I'm looking forward to the next few weeks..

It was 2 one hour episodes. same thing tho, if you miss any of it the last 10 minutes are a must see.

Pretty much--it was two one-hour episodes. It'll be on one hour earlier than it usually is in your time zone. You have shows on at "normal" times in California, right?

And by the way, what are you doing reading a thread about 24 before it's on for you? That's dangerous! ;)
