Is it on again tonight? Sunday nights, right? Or is it Mondays?

Monday nights. I had to readd the recording subscription to my DVR yesterday after Comcast replaced mine.

I really really hope Comcast fixes the audio dropout issues on FOX HD in my area, after running new cable and a new box it was found to be a system issue and effecting everyone on my 'node'

All of my HD channels are 1080i, once watching Rome on HBOHD i saw my TV switch to 1080p mode, but that may have been a fluke.

the jack bauer facts were in my away message all day long on sunday ... they're good.

Superman wears Jack Bauer pajamas!

Those facts are awesome, thanks. :D

24 S05 is really hotting up :D

I love these bits at the end where we know who Jack is going after.. and he grits his teeth, and goes for him :p

The fight scene with that guy who was sent to kill Jack was so unrealistic.. heh.

Am I the only one that doesn't like this season, so far? It seems like the threat isn't so big and scary as a nuke. The plot seems to be moving slow especially compared to the first 10 minutes of the season (you'd hope they'd keep that pace going...). It just seems like they don't know where to go with the plot, in my opinion.

Next week looks better.

Excellent episode tonight, next weeks looks interesting. I wonder who's hand that'll be in the penthouse or even if we'll find out who's it is next week.

Yeah most likely they will have it right at the end, grr I hate it when that happens.

applekid I agree that the threat isn't as big but watching the 3rd and 4th season the whole nuke idea seems a little old.

The 2nd and 4th season were nuclear related, season 3 was a bio-weapon/ revenge against US. The first season was about revenge against Jack and Senator Palmer.

Thank god I'm not alone. All of my friends think I'm crazy saying that this season isn't so great. And I'v said the exact same reasons you've mentioned.

I remember I used to go to bed after 24 with my heart pumping, and not being able to sleep because it was so exciting. I had already forgotten about this episode until I saw that email in my inbox from macrumors.

I'm actually quite the opposite. I'm finding myself more engrossed in this season than I have for the past few seasons. I was predicting the demise of 24 after the second, third, and fourth seasons but this one has renewed my faith in the show.

I guess I'm less into the action and feeling more connected as they spend a little more time on personal struggles rather than always shooting and kicking the crap out of everyone (not that I don't enjoy that as well but it's nice to see a little downtime).

:) Ditto. I thought I read somewhere that in the first season, it was almost like "the bad guys use wintels, the good guys use Macs".

I guess that they decided to change things up when they gave Walt the powerbook, or maybe they were attempting to make him seem like he was trying to be a good guy...."a patriot".

I've finally caught up on the season after being out of the country for a couple of weeks. I have to say that I'm reasonably happy with how things are progressing - in all seasons there's been a lull as the plot develops. It can't be all action all the time.

As with other seasons, there's the whole suspension of disbelief thing, like when Bauer barges into the President's office and starts pummeling Cummings. Right. Fun, but completely unrealistic. The time it took to reverse the whole thing where Logan was going along with Cummings was, what, 4 minutes?

Anyway, it will be interesting to see how they track down the nerve gas, as well as see if that's the entire plotline, or if it will be like last season where they had a series of "mini-plots" like the kidnapping of the DOD guy, etc.

i think the other four seasons were up and running better than this one...the first episode of this season was great, but in the 24 formula of things, there should be two equally interesting plots going at the same time...like in the first season where jack has to be the saviour special agent while kim bauer is dealing with being kidnapped

we could have had a better undercover villain in walt and more damage could have been made on the inside, probably implicating jack in something, but walt coming out as a bad guy so soon has kind of flopped as an idea and i was scratching my head wondering what has happened to the writing on this show...it was a weak episode

the season still has many hours to redeem itself and get a "real" villain like sherry palmer or the salazar brothers

Good point. Nathanson will turn out to be the big villain, perhaps leading to a larger villain in the last little bit, such as the first season sported. Anyways, I think this season may not be so gung-ho as the past, but it certainly has some suspenseful elements to it.

After last weeks "scissor" jab, I wasnt so sure that this week Jack wasnt really going to cut that guys eye out. I was wincing when Jack grabbed him by the head and was ready to start pumpkin carving.

I am really loving this season so far. It seems like an accelerated pace to me. They have already killed off a couple main characters, revealed a mole at CTU (surprise), revealed the traitor at the White House, had a hostage stand-off, and whatever else I'm forgetting.

To be fair, at least the "mole" this time appears to be an unwitting accomplice rather than someone with true malicious intent. I was gonna be pissed if they pulled the real mole thing again.

As for other stuff - I'm wondering if his friend he's being staying with (can't remember her name) is somehow involved in this. I can't think of how or why, but something is telling me that there's more to her story than we've seen so far.

Well, to be fair to the whole concept of having moles as a standard plot element, one could argue that a well-organized villain / terrorist group might feel that they need to have someone on the inside of the law enforcement group(s) that they'll be up against when they carry out their plot. That could mean that there's no terrorist plot until they have a mole. In this case maybe Cummings gave the Russian separatists his thumbs up once he had Spencer in place. Of course that's not the way things necessarily work out in real life, but it's how I've rationalized it to myself.

I don't think there's more to her... yet. I pretty much expect her and/or her son to be kidnapped soon after they're released from CTU. I don't know anything specific about this; it just feels like something that would happen on 24.

Last year's "mole," while clearly working for her own advantage, wasn't as good a mole as they've had in the past (i.e. Nina.) It was pretty obvious from Marianne's introduction that she was a suspicious character, from the way she wormed her way into a job, Curtis' reaction, etc. But she wasn't necessarily what I would consider a stereotypical mole, as she didn't have a long-established trust with CTU as a whole. And, unless I'm mistaken, there was no real CTU mole in season three - there was a suspected mole, but not a real one.

At the beginning of this season I was afraid that Spencer was going to turn out "evil" - I mean, let's face it, CTU-centric relationships rarely wind up good. Jack and Nina? Curtis and Marianne? The good guy always sleeps with the mole!

I agree there. I also think that Mrs. Logan gets killed soon. she knows too much. You never know what is going to happen next. i like that. i cant wait until next week.
