last two hours just started. nice thank you by kiefer before the start of the show, and a throwback to episode 1 with the real time bit.

i think jack is dead meat.

Actually it's the second Lost Boys moment of the series.

explain.

and logan is like "darn it, bauer screwed me over AGAIN!" when he found out the treaty wasn't going to be signed. and he just killed his cohort. and looks like it's going to be logan vs. bauer to end things...or not as he probably just killed himself. bauer is likely to be dead.

guess he's not dead, instead he's off to nowhereland. funny that the clock clicked backwards on the last one, probably a callback to the very first 24.

Man, another great series finale. I have been filled with emotions the last two nights. Can't wait to see a film on 24. There's not going to be anything like LOST and 24 anymore.

He chewed out the jugular of a terrorist that was torturing him at the beginning of season 5 or 6.

Kind of anticlimactic . Would have been more powerful if he died early in the episode and the recording he made was the last thing we saw.

Jack wasnt going to die they have been working on a movie since early this year which is due out 2011, For me they did a good job to tie things up for the series but yet knowing theres a movie down the line.

It wasn't a bad episode...

I think that it would have made a fine season finale, but not a series finale...

Maybe I was expecting too much

I feel like I normally do after an Apple keynote ;)

They could have killed him and still done the movie. We've only seen 8 days out of his entire life.
I always thought the 2 times he had to disappear at the end of a season they should have had him doing merc jobs abroad for a goood cause that would draw him back into contact with CTU. Redemption wasn't quite it.
In truth I thought the series would have been great if it didn't follow the same characters every season or even be about terrorism, but just a tense situation. maybe not even action based, that would need to be resolved in 24 hours.

Wow President Tatlor is dirtier than Logan.

not at all.

Finale was alright; though the "jack going into hiding" thing is quite overplayed. Was hoping for a jaw dropping plot twist to lead into the movie; ah well, hate to see it go.

I can't believe Logan shot his lap dog. Man, they really made him an evil guy in the end.

So where is shot and stabbed Bauer going to hide? Can Chloe really protect Kim and her family? Will Cole finally get that puzzled look off his face?:)

Looking back, I'm not surprised that so many people died this year. I think they wanted to rule out scenarios for movie 24. They just tidied up quite a few possible story lines.

They have done this ending before, Jack went into hiding after season 4 when they fake killed Tony. The ending was classic 24 when you knew Jack would escape at the end. The show would have ended better if they either killed off Jack in the last scene or left it open where we didn't know his fate. The best part of the ending was when Jack thanked Chloe for saving his ass so many times.

Agreed. That was pretty cool.

Chloe's character got so much better year after year. She really stepped up to the plate this year. I was surprised when she got put in charge of CTU, but thinking back, it was the right call and it really fit the story well.

The last 10 minutes of the show needed to be rewritten, unless they changed the ending because they knew the show was being canceled. It just seems like something else was missing. I still think the best way to end the show was to have Jack die and it was set up that way. The whole Jack goes into hiding and then gets called back because something big happens has been done before. If they were going to end the show it had to be something different.

i have to agree. the ending was lacking. i thought it would be better if jack was barley able to walk and still bleeding at the final shot to leave jack's fate a bit more ambiguous.

I understand how you feel, but the early things I've heard about the movie seem to indicate it will all take place in Europe. I hope these rumors are true and there's no Jack coming back to the states. The only way to maintain credibility at this point is for him to remain a fugitive the rest of his life, kinda like the A-Team. I guess he would be the B-Team. Get it??? Bauer... :D .... okay, I'll stop now.

I'm satisfied with the ending, but frustrated as well. It just stinks that Jack has to pay the price because President Taylor faltered. I know you can argue that he "crossed the line" in becoming "judge, jury, and executioner", but he didn't kill anyone that wasn't guilty or already trying to kill him. So, I prefer to think of it as "proactive self defense". :p Hopefully the movie will be good.

not shocking for logan. he's never been a good guy and has been known to do whatever it took to get what he wants. now with all of his plans down the drain forever, he killed himself and his weasel so the public wouldn't know how evil he was.

another question: will chole smile without having that pouty look on her face?

rewatching the last two hours, i thought that this was a satisfactory ending. unlike season 4, jack will probably have to leave the country for a very very long time, with nobody knowing where he went (that is if he can get out in time).
