Somehow I knew this would end like it did. Almost every season Jack was an outcast with some sort of backpack walking down a lonely street or railroad yard into the sunset.

Just finished watching it. I thought it was a fitting ending to the series. In the end, the characters stayed true to themselves despite the jump the shark moments of the past 2 weeks.

he killed himself and his weasel so the public wouldn't know how evil he was.

Since he was talking about his loathing for Bauer when he was offing the assistent, I took he killed him because he didn't want him to spill the beans about the unit that kidnapped Bauer so at least Logan can die knowing that Bauer is also dead.

Don't make him angry, mscriv. You wouldn't like him when he is angry.:p

Well done sir, very well done. :D

That's how I interpreted it to. No leaks, the president's too late, I die knowing that Jack will die to.

Could you imagine how easy Jack would have it if he didn't either:

a) Have the terrorists blackmailing him by kidnapping his loved ones; or
b) Be fighting a huge conspiracy with all government agencies working against him.

"24" would just be "1".

Not a bad season overall, how does everyone else think it slots in with the rankings?

I need to rewatch it all again to remember, but I would rank season 1 as the best, and probably either 2, 3 or 4 as the worst season. 6 had some pretty good twists and turns with the father/brother thing, and I'm undecided whether 7 was better than 8.

Season 5 was the best season of the series, they had a strong story going into 6 and could have continued where 5 left off but instead they wrote themselves into a corner and never recovered. It regained some strength and they tried to redeem the show during season 7 by moving it to DC, and 8 in NY.

Thanks!
