Is this going to cause problems for iPlus/ZiPhone? Or by upgrading to 1.1.4 we should be fine?
Yeah, unfortunately, I got the same e-mail... on my blackberry, it looked like total spam. But it seems to be legitimate:
I got this email this morning, and then about 30 minutes later got a confirmation that my order shipped and a tracking number. Ordered Tuesday around 3PM.
and another thing. Why does att.com's order status suck so much. It says it doesn't even recognize my order number and can't give me status.

Must be a case of the "left hand not knowing what the right is doing". Hopefully you will get the same email today.

If I were you guys, upgraded to just 1.1.2
1.1.2 is compatible with almost all programs and won't have any problems.
If you want to be the most stable, use 1.1.4, but a lot of programs don't work with 1.1.4 like iSMS which is frustrating.

Yea... I ordered mine late on Tuesday night and got the backordered email this morning. I called in to confirm and the customer service told me that they should receive their weekly order by end of the week or early next week. So sad... I was expecting to get it by Friday or Saturday since my friend is here for springbreak and he can sign the package for me. Now I may need to take work off or something~ >_<

MAN... I should have ordered mine a lot earlier. I saw this deal Tuesday morning but didn't order it until late that night. Seems like I won't get the phone till next weekend. >_<

I was also told that she couldn't find any info for new shipment of the phone (usually end of the week or early next week). Anyone knows what's going on???

Got backorder email at 3AM. While writing this got shipping confirmation email from ATT at 10:49AM. Not in the DHL system yet. hope it shows up by monday!

I also ordered my Tuesday afternoon about 2:00pm central time. I received an email from AT&T with tracking number. However, DHL's website did not know anything about my tracking number until last night. Today's update is that its in Ohio and that i will receive it tomorrow
Hi! New to the forum but I have been lurking for 2 years.
In China right now, but I had to jump on this deal. $250 was the sweet spot for me to experiment with unlocking an iPhone for Tmobile.
Anyway, just got the backorder email. Very weird. Doesn't list a date, just says special order. Also says the "accessory" is in stock. So what are they going to ship me the power cord? If it doesn't ship within the month I think I will just go buy one since I have already convinced myself I'd be an iPhone owner when I return to Texas on Monday.

I got the backorder email this morning as well, but I just called them about an hour ago, and she said that I was "one of the lucky ones" and mine was shipped. She gave me a DHL tracking # and everything. I can't wait, I hope that it gets here tomorrow. Anyone know what the "accessory" from the email is?

You got it backwards. If you don't get it by your g/f's birthday, you may not be screwed.

In my selfish mind, what would REALLY be nice is if they shipped 'em based on how long you've been with AT&T! But alas, the cell phone market is more in love with newbies. "You're new with us? FREE PHONE! You've had service for 20 years? Ah, we'll give you a coupon and a cookie."

Although I have been with AT&T for about 3 and half years, I didn't use my account to purchase the phone. (unless they check my name and phone number...)
I ordered mine about the same time as you did and I received the shipping email this morning. Maybe you should call them and find out the status, and show them that you care and push it a lil. (I didn't give them any pressure, but I think it helped for my case)
