Tracking results provided by UPS: 03/21/2008 11:16 A.M. ET

It looks like the billing info was received 10 minutes before midnight on the 20th, just under the wire. That means Friday is the first business day, and Monday is the second. Origin scan at Ft. Worth at 730am on the 21st which is Friday. Scheduled for delivery on the 24th which is Monday.

You didn't say it shipped on the 20th. You made it sound as if it shipped today..

Just checked and they have refurbished iphones on the apple website. While supplies last!!$349

Somehow this US$100.00 difference suggests me that this batch of refurbs from AT&T was never sent back to Apple. Maybe Apple uses higher standards for refurbs. Who knows ? My previous experience with AT&T was not good and I wonder what the bold phrase below real means when the refurb comes from AT&T (and not Apple).

Why Refurbished Phones?

Sold exclusively online, Refurbished Phones are pre-owned cell phones and devices that have been returned during the 30-day trial period. Each Refurbished Phone/Device is independently tested and reflashed with the latest software to meet new factory standards.

Just curious, according to people to have received their refurbished iphone, the firmware are all 1.1.1. But based on the statement above, shouldn't they be the latest version, which is 1.1.4, to the the factory standards??

Now we're talking semantics. Billing info was received 10 minutes before midnight but it didn't leave the att warehouse till 7:30 am on the 21st and I didn't get the email till today so if as far as I'm concerned it shipped today. There are a lot of people who ordered on the 18th and got it yesterday so if billing info hadn't been received till 12:01 on the 21st, who's to say it wouldn't still have gotten here on Monday. The point is moot, however, because my iPhone is on the way!

Apple and AT&T have different "standards" for refurbished equipment.
From he other posts, something suggests that AT&T just repackages
the phone (if it is working) without following Apple's standards.
That's why you have US$100.00 difference on these phones.

Now you guys have me all worried that my iPhone is going to have problems because it has not been tested.

Same here... I was planning to unlock it so I can use it when I travel back to Taiwan in May. But it also seems like I might need the warranty more since the refurb from ATT may have more problem. >_<

My strategy is to not unlock the phone before a careful testing. If you do (meaning bye-bye warranty) and something goes wrong, what else can you do ? Certainly Apple is not going to do anything.

I wonder whether or not you could return to AT&T for another model.

Ya I made the original post because a lot of people in here don't understand that the shipment day does not count as a business day.

2-Day shipping will usually come 2 days after it is shipped.

Sometimes if you are lucky things come early :)

No harm no foul.

But how do you test it without either unlocking it or signing the contract??

How can I test it without unlock?

Just got my phone right now. I ordered it on Tuesday. Everything looks good so far. It comes with the cleaning cloth and 1.1.1 firmware. The phone looks brand new. I hope everything goes good with the phone:)

According to DHL, mine's still on the truck... I'm not sure how much longer I can wait! I've already told my boss that I'm starting to feel faint. :)

You can activate the phone without unlocking it. This will allow to use as an iPod or wifi device.

Only if you unlock you will be saying goodbye to the warranty.

You mean jailbreak? if I follow the normal activation thru itune, it means I will need to sign the ATT contract. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Activating it in ANY way OUTSIDE of iTunes with AT&T voids the warranty...

You CAN bypass the activation process. Maybe I was unfortunate to write
"You can activate the phone without unlocking it."...the most correct way would be "you can BYPASS the activation..."

And no, you do not necessarily need to jailbreak an iPhone to bypass the activation step.

Ok, give... how do you "bypass" activation without jailbreaking it?

I have he same situation you do. I have a blackberry wih the unlimited package. Im just curious of how im going to switch my internet settings. Did you have any MyFav5 on your blackberry? I currently have that and im wondering if that is still going to work and if i can get by with that on my iPhone. I know i wont be able to see the MyFav5 but hopefully keep the unlimited minutes to those people. Let me know......Thanks
I have myfaves too, they dont ask anything about that. I just called and asked them to change me from blackberry to total internet because I got a new unlocked smartphone. I wish it would finish provisioning or whatever is taking them so long though, I still can't get EDGE. Just manage myfaves from mytmobile.com

Is the Leopard theme in the summerboard/installer? or did you download it? Where'd you get it from and how do you get it onto the iPhone? It's got the be the BEST looking theme in my opinion, and I'll definitely be putting it on. Just want to get my ducks in a row before I receive my phone!
Leopard theme was on summerboard by default!

When and where?! I did that too, in Ft. Lauderdale from June 03 - July 03. Turns out my supervisor was a... er... jerk...

I don't remember when, but it was about 5 or 6 years ago in Alpharetta, GA. I so hated that job. They spent one week training us before throwing us to the wolves. Yeah, I got out of there in a hurry.

****, my order was canceled  The credit card company denied it because it was not usual behavior, and so I have to call them and figure everything out. :( this sucks. :(
