I'm not outraged by it, because I thin 128GB is way more then I need. With cloud storage (whether its iCloud, Google, or Dropbox), the need for local storage seems to be diminishing. Can someone please tell me how customers are not outraged by this?
And if what I periodically read here is representative, many are up at 3am, on Apple.com, furiously clicking the BUY button to get their new thing before anyone else! Whole threads of them, exchanging buying tips and trading success stories.Early adopters always get screwed. Nothing new here!![]()

Anyone have any experience with portable storage devices like iexpand: https://www.sandisk.com/ixpandflashdrive. It would seem to be a resonable solution for watching movies on a plane.Really, I travel quite a bit and in the Cloud is impractical on so many occasions - I, like many others, need the info resident on the device.

speaking about BS, could you please link me the page on their website where they explain to you their "established policy of not upgrading more than once a year" ? I can't find itTotal BS. This has nothing to do with technology moving on. Apple has an established policy of not upgrading their products more than once a year, that's why I feel safer buying Apple in the belief it won't be out of date and/or upgraded 5 minutes after I've purchased it. They've really screwed over their iPad Pro customers in this instance. End of.
If 128GB was inadequate for your needs then why did you buy one?I'm actually getting a little tired of reexplaining myself repeatedly. It's not a difficult point to make, but a lot of people refuse to even consider the point of view. It really is just a matter of taking something you really want to buy, just with one small inconvenience that is magically solved in 4 months without any hint that it would be.
Oh I get the perspective... there are people who look for reasons to be offended. For something that you say is "one small inconvenience" you sure are emotionally invested in it.Personally I don't care about the whole 256GB issue anymore, but I'm getting annoyed by others not at least trying to look at it in the perspective the 128GB owners have.
All these posts and all these paragraphs going back and forth and over complicating things and really...it just comes down to this one sentence right here. I think that's a wrap boys. What else is there to sayIf you wanted a 256 device you should have waited for one.
you do have an upgrade option. sell your current one and buy a new one
If you travel a lot, then you would have your laptop to sync your iPad data, no? So then you wouldn't have to fill the iPad.Really, I travel quite a bit and in the Cloud is impractical on so many occasions - I, like many others, need the info resident on the device.

Relax...I agree with you...very uncharacteristic of Apple to launch a 255gb model a scant 4 months later and yes, Apple shafted you.
But at this point, you either sell the 126gb and buy the 256gb or keep the 128gb model and accept things as they are. It sucks, but there it is.
In contrary, most new mobile data plans are not unlimited anymore and the monthly cost is getting higher and higher. So there is still a need for ample local storage.I'm not outraged by it, because I thin 128GB is way more then I need. There are wireless versions from other manufacturers too.
Anyone?
I think the idea of apple wanting to sell you cloud storage trumps a cellular plan's limited data quota, plus there's plenty of public wifi hot spots. In contrary, most new mobile data plans are not unlimited anymore and the monthly cost is getting higher and higher. Yup, I plan to keep the 128gb unless there's a massive sale of some kind on the 256gb. Actually I'm beginning to wonder if Apple will decide to refresh the 9.7" iPad Pro with USB3 + fast charge and 4Gb RAM later this year. That would be... Unpleasant for some people![]()
I use a Kingston MobileLite Wireless G3, it's a great wee device. Long battery life, repeater/router, USB and SD slots and being wireless ac it's a decent speed. It manages to stream high bitrate 1080p MKVs to 3 devices simultaneously. I've no problems getting things on and off it.
I'm less keen on the Lightning port ones, they don't have the flexibility that the Kingston does.
TrueBlou and I have crisscrossed a lot of threads on this subject and I agree, a wireless device like the G3 is great. I happen to use the RAVPower FileHub but they both do essentially the same thing and do it very well. I went through three Leef iAccess Lightning microSD card readers before finally getting a refund - extremely buggy (why I got a refund), slow, and a very poor app interface.
I purchased because of screen size. Sure I would have purchased the 256 over the 128 but that's not that big a deal. The Pro owner that is being hurt the most are those that purchased the entry level 32. That is a tough amount of memory to live with.
