In israel we are waiting for the 27" ACD as well

Here is my current desktop (now using magic trackpad).

As for now the screen is the LG 24" led which is great and i also connect it to the PC i have on the right to control my DVR software. the screen is matte finish so i hope switching to the 27" glossy won't be a bad decision considering the fact im surrounded by windows.

On our local Apple reseller website only this ad that says Comeming Soon.
They don't have the price for it yet, but it should be around $2000.
prices in israel are insane!!!

I'll keep updating...

Are there any graphics cards that actually allow the Apple LED Cinema 27" to work on a PC?

Ordered a new HDTV last month and it showed up broken. Took forever to get the money back when I returned it. Then after buying a new HDTV locally that one had horrible issues with color banding and backlight flickering. Exchanged it for another, came out just as bad. Finally exchanged that one for a more expensive model and ended up with a great HDTV with 0 issues.

I always buy TVs from Costco - the prices are great and they have a no quibble 90 day, no restocking fee return policy. Any issues just take it back. I saw the price on mine drop within the first 90 days and took it back and rebought it at the lower price. If it had dropped again in the next 90 days or a better model comes out then I could have done the same. There used to be no time limit but people used to abuse the he'll out of it, and take back tvs that were years old.

Btw I am also still waiting for my pre ordered cinema display to arrive - it's only just left Nashville. it's annoying as i could drive to the apple store and get one home within the hour.

See the reflection in the black glossy frame of you LG display in the picture you posted? Or have a look at the screen of your macbook on the left. That's what your ACD will look like, but entirely on the whole screen :)
The gloss of the ACD isn't that bad but if you're "surrounded by windows", you should prolly consider a different display or switch to a new room, I guess :)

Awesome. The ACD shipping time has changed to 5-7 business days now on Apple's Online Store.

This was at BestBuy, their return policy on TVs is pretty good too (not as good as Costco though). They have no restocking fee, but their return window is only 30 days, although it goes up to 45 when you are a Premier Silver Rewards Zone member (which I happen to be). I didn't have any problems swapping them out, but it was annoying how I kept having bad luck with stuff.

Only 3 more days now, that's not that long of a wait.

I hope that the ACD will arrive to israel so i will be able to see it before buying the unit, i love how it looks so much so i guess i will have to live with the glossy i consider it as the only "flaw" and im OK with it...
after all i love my MBP which has glossy all over...
i just hope the price won't be $2K.

Very strange since the Apple website says it supports 1920x1080. Maybe a mistake?

I am pretty sure it can still do 1920x1080 when plugged into a Mac, the problem has to do with the EDID registers on the display. Apple could very easily recognize the display and allow you to select 1080 as an output on a Mac, the display would essentially be getting the same signal as 1440 but the OS would just scale it on the computer side instead of the display side.

It's still annoying because there is no good reason for Apple to not include it.

Mine is scheduled to arrive on the 19th October, which suddenly seems ages away. But on the bright side the uni has calibration tools available to rent for students (might have to get one of my digital art friends to help me out though)

For anyone who has the new ACD27", I am thinking about buying one but was wondering what peoples thoughts were on the glossy display.

I plan on using it in a dark room so glare shouldn't be an issue, but is the screen prone to lots of reflections i.e. will I be seeing my own face in the screen???

in a room that does not have a window right next to or behind the ACD, it is stunning. get one. you won't be disappointed :D

Awesome.... I am a "PC guy" and my old monitor actually died so I decided to buy the new DELL U3011 30". The DELL was amazing *except* it had a somewhat aggressive anti-glare coating on it that really bothered my eyes.

All I want is a nice, sharp 27"-30" IPS display that doesn't have a "sparkle" effect like the DELL Ultrasharp and NEC Multisync displays. After reading thru the comments on this forum on the ACD27", it looks like my quest for a monitor may have finally ended, thank guys!!! :D

Mine left Nashville and went to Kentucky. Hopefully it gets to me on Tues :D

I know i ordered mine at 6 am the morning they were on the site and mine is scheduled for a wed delivery. If I paid the extra 40 for overnight I would have it now. I think this is normal though apple usually ships items to the stores at the same time it ships to preorders. I cant think of an item that has not worked like that.

Looks like europe (France / Germany) is second world for apple :( Having ordered mine 3 hrs after release back in mid september, my estimate still shows as "ships october 15th" ... RAAAH. I have a brand new Mac Pro Hex with SSD and 24Gb RAM sitting here, all hooked to a tiny 20'" ACD :(

C'Mon Apple, get the trucks loaded!

Not really, I ordered mine the same day in Canada too and its still got a shipping date of October 8th but then that was as listed on the website when I ordered it, probably just as the same with you too. Also and if you think you've got it bad, I sold my old computer and screen and went from 2x 24 inch screens to just using my 15 inch Macbook Pro screen for the past 2 months.
