In that previous pic, it does look as if the 27" has a yellow tint, in comparison to the 24". Muy interesante.

Wrong, that is a simple difference in the selected color profile between the two, it shows nothing. That picture is not good enough to really show the differences, and honestly it needs a full round of testing to determine that, not some random picture on the internet.

Wow, these showed up in Apple Stores fast. Anyone heard anything about Canadian apple store avaliability?

Its a shame their is a massive $150 apple tax on them here in the UK!
Whats that for their flight from China?
As above the colours look doggie. The 24" panel looks superior!

I am so glad you can decipher how good the colors are just by looking at a crappy photo. Seriously people, stop judging how a display looks by a photo. Even if it was a good photo there is no way to be sure if the photo is accurate because there are far too many factors in what makes the colors in a photo look like they do.

Wait until someone does some professional testing, stop being dumb and looking at a photo and saying "oh the 24 inch looks superior."

A few quick pics.

I want your desk! Where did you get it?

Okay, it's been over 24 hours and my UPS tracking still only shows "Billing Information Received."

UPS you have failed me for the last time! Vengeance will be mine come morning.

Update: It's probably just UPS just being worthless as usual and my package is safely on it's way to me, but I shall exact my vengeance none the less!

Walked straight into the store today, bought one, brought it home. Using it now. It rocks.

Got the last one in the store.

:)

Does this display has the same issues as an 27" imac. Yellow, backlight bleeding, dead pixels?

Or is it a very different product?

Could someone who has purchased a 27" ACD please open the following link full-screen and post a (white-balanced, properly exposed) photograph of the results?

http://tapplox.com/imac-led.html

This will make it easier for users to decide for themselves whether there is a yellow tinge, and whether it will be a problem for them.

Also,

Can someone see if there is a buzzing noise coming from the screen at various brightness settings?

If you put your ear to the back of the screen you will be able to tell if it's there or not.

I had to return my ACD 24" because of this buzzing noise which seemed so common.

you just want a screen capture of that page?

no sound at all from the monitor at any brightness level

Doc750, it needs to be an actual photograph of the monitor for any tinge to be visible (if it is there).

Well if it's the same panel that the use in the iMacs then may statement holds! If it's not then we can all smile and aww at it's beauty :)

I have a 30" CD and a Mac Pro. I was thinking of replacing my 30" with a new 27", but am afraid that I'd be taking a step down. The addition of the camera is a nice touch, but don't know if that's worth the trade in pixels.

What I'd really like to see is a side-by-side comparison between the 30" and the 27" next to a Mac Pro.

Anyone have pics of that?

They're both nice pieces. I don't think it's a step down (my opinion), but I don't think it's a huge step up from the 30" either. I think it's just a preference thing. The colors pop more on the new 27" IMHO, but the difference in vertical res just isn't that big of a deal for me.

Wish I had side-by-sides, but the 30" that I use isn't at home. I just have the 27" here.

Thanks, I stand corrected. Now, where's my wallet...

Damnit, the UPS tracking page for my display FINALLY updated and now says it will be here on Tuesday. Apparently Apple was lying when they said it shipped on Wednesday and the display just sat in the warehouse for 48 hours until it finally got picked up today.

Sigh, last time I order anything from Apple online. Other than pre-orders (iPhones) and build to order Macs of course. I should have just gone to the store and picked it up but I expected at worst I would be waiting 2 days more for my display.

Oh well, on Tuesday I will have a shiny (quite literally) new display and all will be good.

The hilarious thing is I have had terrible luck when it comes to displays in the past few months. Ordered a new HDTV last month and it showed up broken. Took forever to get the money back when I returned it. Then after buying a new HDTV locally that one had horrible issues with color banding and backlight flickering. Exchanged it for another, came out just as bad. Finally exchanged that one for a more expensive model and ended up with a great HDTV with 0 issues.

This whole Apple shipment in limbo thing was starting to make me think I am cursed. Hopefully this one will arrive problem free, seems like nearly everyone who has got one is happy with theirs so far at least!
