Ordered at 5:41 am CST on the 30th........is finally preparing for shipment!

It is 3:21 am and the sun just came out, the sky is a beautiful blue, the birds are singing, the angels have come down from heaven..........

Apple probably has specific terms regarding its contract with FedEx... I'm guessing Saturday delivery is not part of the agreement...

And now the wait continues! :(

Shipper has to pay extra for Saturdays delivery. That's probably the reason.

OH HAPPY DAY!!! I know I'm not the last in the 5 minute club... but FINALLY!

Mine shipped on Friday but it got to the FedEx office in Shanghai after the cutoff. It looks like it is now in transit out of China so they do pickup packages on the weekend.

Finally my iMac has changed to 'Shipped' overnight... Hope the Wednesday delivery date is true, that would be sweet. I'm just glad to get FedEx instead of UPS, I work in logistics & work closely with both companies, FedEx is superior (at least where I live in Toronto).

Yeah I don't expect them to deliver or a Saturday - but the package should move closer. It's sad if it needs to stay in Kazakhstan for 3 days before it moves again or wherever it is.

I can confirm that the package will mover closer on Saturday. Mine arrived in Baltimore late last night and Departed Baltimore at 7:30am

The sucky past being that Baltimore is like 1.5 hours away, they could deliver if today if they really wanted to haha

Code:
Baltimore, MD, United States 12/15/2012 7:33 A.M.	Departure Scan
Baltimore, MD, United States 12/14/2012 10:45 P.M.	Arrival Scan
Louisville, KY, United States 12/14/2012 1:09 P.M.	Departure Scan
12/14/2012 10:37 A.M.	Import Scan
Anchorage, AK, United States 12/11/2012 9:10 P.M.	Departure Scan

Mine is sitting in a town that is a 10-15 minute drive from my house. It's in Redmond, the home of Microsoft. LOL.

Mine arrived at my local sort facility early this morning, meaning that if Fedex delivered on Saturdays it would be on the road to my house already. Gonna be a long wait until Monday :D

----------

It's 45 minutes away from me... really wish I could just go pick it up!

Ditto unless I can convince them to let me come pick it up at the sort facility. Nevermind. The "sort facility" is the airport. The only way to pick it up as if it arrives at the local distribution center today.

Mine is now at the FedEx Destination Sort Facility, which is about 40 min from my house. I called and FedEx said that facility isn't set up to break down pallets for me to go in and pick it up. I need to wait at least until it makes it to my local office. Here's hoping it moves before 1:30 PM today, so I can run down there before they close at 2 PM.

Show of hands, please. Who else who ordered just after 12 am on 11/30 still shows as processing?

I was with you, until my shipped Thursday (and sat until Friday before leaving China).

Preparing for Shipment

My status just changed sometime early this morning to Preparing for Shipment. I ordered on 11/30 at 9:00 AM EST.

3.4ghz i7
8 GB RAM
1 TB Fusion
680MX
Magic Trackpad
Wireless Keyboard

Wait. I ordered not on the 30th, but ON THE 28TH! Two days before the thing went on sale. I ordered through a reseller, who offered a better deal on RAM and no tax. (Apparently there's no sales tax in Utah, where Expercom is located.) My status has remained stubbornly at "Processing" through all the celebrations and unboxings and nitpicking over Shanghai flight paths on this site. I now wonder if resellers are automatically put at the back of the line. No point in getting upset. It is what it is.

Are you still processing, bayleaves? :(
My status changed around noon EST yesterday, hopefully yours today.

Yep, still processing. Honestly, I can't imagine my status page ever changing. But even when it does, I have to say my enthusiasm is considerably dampened.

You placed your order with the reseller on the 28th, but I am pretty sure the reseller couldn't place their order with Apple until the 30th. I don't know if they go to the back of the line, but I don't think letting people order prior to the official sale date puts those orders at the front of the line. It's hard to know exactly when they transmitted your order to Apple, but it's at that point that you got in the queue rather than when you placed your order with Expercom.

It appears my iMac was on the flight from Anchorage to Oakland last night. It departed Oakland at 1:15AM today - coming by truck(?) to Southern California it should be near me very soon and looking good for the Monday delivery by 10:30AM. My free adapter (thunderbolt to firewire) moved from Ontario to Mira Loma on track for a Monday delivery by 3:00PM. I wonder if the FEDEX computers can figure out to put the adapter on the truck with the computer?

Yeah, big mistake ordering through a reseller if you wanted any chance of getting it early. The discounted price is nice though!
