Believe it or not, my status just changed to preparing for shipment. My coworker heard me jump out of my chair really fast, and she immediately knew what had happened.

My fully-loaded BTO arrived via FedEx today. Hooray! Many thanks to everyone on this board for the moral support as I waited impatiently for this computer to arrive. Now to install CS6 and put this machine through it's paces...
Has anyone else's status changed yet for those who placed an order on or after December 1st and are located in the US?
Initially Jan. 2-8 with standard shipping. I called and they changed me to next day shipping so now my window is Dec. 28 - Jan. 4. I am in Florida.

I'm delivered!!!! YAY! Looks like I'll be transferring away from this thread.
I have to say, its a beautiful machine. Display is great, RAM was easy to install (albeit I did inadvertently try to install it upside down at first...oooops!) and starting to download a fresh install before transferring my data back in.
I also have to say that the packaging is pretty solid! The trapezoid shapes on both the iMac and shipping boxes AND the foam on the shipping box made me feel like my iMac went first class (well except that it went on UPS - - hahaha!). I enjoyed every moment of peeling out all the packaging materials!
Bayleaves.....I obviously don't know who you are, but I've also been following your plight throughout the whole week. I'm really happy that you're status finally changed! And I'll cross my fingers that you're on FedEx with an arrival before Xmas!

My BTO 27" arrived in Sydney yesterday, but annoyingly it has a couple of very prominent dead pixels (very centrally placed). Normally I'd tolerate one or two off to the side, but as I'm using it professionally (and it cost a fortune), I'll want it replaced.
Apple very straightforwardly are shipping a replacement BTO, and letting me hold onto the first one until I'm ready (and happy) to send it back. All very decent.
Other than that, it's a dream.
Let's hope I don't end up with a pile of faulty 27" iMacs.
