PREPARING FOR SHIPMENT!!! Checked 15 minutes ago, and then again, and voila! Preparing for shipment. Ordered on Nov 30th and changed on December 7th. Amazing. Excited to get this sweet beast. January is the promised shipping timeframe, so we'll see when it gets here!
Ordered mine on 11/30 early in the morning (European time).
Original delivery estimate: Dec 27 - Jan 3.

Whoa! I thought you were ahead of me. I must go back to my secret mantra to speed things up for my macsibs, you and bayleaves. Mine is now in Chantilly VA and is due for delivery today. Simply amazing. It was in China on the 19th. Once they start moving they move very quickly. Must have done customs in china. I won't be home today so I had it sent to the ups customer care center. This is a godsend. They alert me when it comes in and I have 5 days to pick it up. The center is about 5 miles from where I live and it's pretty much a rural area. NO TRAFFIC. Love it! Planing to pick it up tomorrow morning if all goes well. We will see.
Now back to that secret mantra!
I ordered my almost fully load 27"er (only got the 1TB fusion drive) the evening of 30 November and it landed in Mount Hope, ON at 5:09am today. Original arrival date was 3-8 January. I am off all next week, so really excited about being able to play during the holiday.

So, my lovely iMAC was waiting for me when I got home today. It is utterly silent, so very fast and the screen is beautiful. Love the trackpad.

I have now been in the "Preparing for shipment" status for over 72 hours. 3 days!

On crap..... Anyone else getting this MSG; "Due to holiday volume, UPS Ground delivery guarantees are suspended until December 26, 2012. All other guaranteed UPS Services will be delivered within 90 minutes of the normal commit time."??? What does thus mean! Mine been at ups in shanghai for 2 days now!! ??

Mine is on a truck for delivery today, but that same "holiday volume" message now appears for me too. It's understandable that the extra volume will slow down all deliveries, but I don't know why they felt the need to post that message.
I am hoping ours are on the FedEx Flight 28 that is landing in Anchorage at 10:30 am pacific.
Did you get any more info or tracking? has it moved passed China? Mine says the same thing, except with a date of Dec 20.
No updates here either. Last tracking info is "left origin facility" 15 hours ago. Is it stuck? Is it moving but they didn't scan it? Still says delivery dec 24 10:30am
According to apple my imac is still in many pieces. I.e. it is still being built in china. Yes 11/30 order still processing...
I'm still amazed at how much extra time our orders take due to ordering one day later. Also, many others appear to have their iMacs up to two weeks earlier than the estimated delivery window, but it appears our iMacs will actually appear within the delivery window and not any earlier.
That's what I am trying to understand... It's rather nuts.

Well, I imagine there were a LOT of Macs ordered on 11/30, and the number of orders tapered off after that. So, once they get past the 11/30 batch, things should flow smoother.
Wish I knew. The next FedEx flight (#28) lands in three hours, so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I just don't know why everything has been extra slow for some of us - every step of the way.
